Default Roommate problems

My new roommate has a girlfriend, while I do not at this point in time. She's nice enough, and he's a pretty good guy in most respects.

But he keeps bringing her over. More than that, he let's her spend the night. They don't do it, they just snuggle and coo and be nauseatingly cute with each other. I once woke up in the morning, hit the alarm and heard a soprano voice coming from the next bed. He's done this three more times, and it's really getting annoying.

Why am I putting up with this?

You'll need to stay liquored up until they get over the honeymoon stage of the relationship.

Ummm...why is this a big issue if he has his gf over? Is she irritating? Does she eat your food or crap all over your pillow? If not, it sounds to me like you're just jealous he's got a woman and you don't and I can pretty much guarantee your roommate is going to think the same thing of you. Don't be so petty. Let other people enjoy their happiness. Maybe his gf has some hot female friends that may be interested in you.

Does this have more to do with the fact you don't have a g/f or are they really that Cutsie Poo annoying?

Edit: Because you sound so much like my friend when he talks about my relationship with my g/f.

You should sabotage the relationship because if you don't have a girlfriend, your roommate definitely shouldn't be able to have one. The world really does revolve all around you and what makes you happy and comfortable.

Don't worry Kane, I'm having the same exact problem right now. The only difference is that it is one of my suite mates and he lives in the other bedroom (its 4 guys with 2 bedrooms). He brings his girl friend over everyday and she mostly stays over until about midnight.

Well, he works on campus and is gone on business trip this week. Much to our surprise, his girlfriend just walks in the front door one day and makes her self at home. This means that he has given her a key. This frustrated me and I wanted to turn him in but I didn't want any problems between me and him or get him fired from his job.

Agreed. It sounds like her mere presence bothers him. Unless she's an annoyance or makes things that uncomfortable, I don't see what the big deal is.

i understand it. it's an invasion of space- and an imbalance of the personal space of the dormroom.
when he starts bringing the girlfriend in, even if she's a nice person, even if they get along great- there's suddenly a 2 to 1 shift in the balance of the room. that means kane can start to feel like an outsider even though its his own room. SO he's robbed of his own personal space, to some extent.

maybe some people are immune to it- or amybe they just havent experienced it themselves. but it s a sort of organic thing, and it can happen even if, as i've said, all three people get along great.

in short, its the third wheel syndrome, and kane didnt even do anything to bring it on.

Start suggesting to him that you think his girlfriend is attractive... after you've laid that foundation, come on to her. Problem solved, he'll never bring her over again.

Both factors are definitely part of it. And yes, they are extremely Cutsie Poo. Although...

Be more specific about what is annoying you. Is it the privacy thing or is she disrespectful in some way?

Next time your roommate brings little miss girlfriend over for some cuddlesnug, plant a whoopee cushion underneath one of his pillows. She won't be around for a while after that.

Buy some panties and plant them somewhere on his bed where she'll find them.
