Default BM&MF:SUBZERO -vs- Batman & Robin

OR

Everyone here knows I like B&R. If you want to view the reasons, go look for the thread I made in this very forum.

But I also have a very special place for Subzero. Why? It was a great animated movie, even up there with 'Mask of the Phantasm'... the interesting thing about these two movies (Subzero / B&R), is that they are roughly the same age. That is why I think it is interesting to compare them.

Which is better in your opinion?

While Sub-Zero is, obviously, unbelievably better than B&R, I've actually never been much of a fan of it in general. To me, it's always seemed more like an overlong episode of TAS than anything else.

Granted, you could argue an overlong episode of TAS is still ****ing awesome.

Sub-Zero, I have to say, is boring. Not only are Batman and Robin barely in it, but Mr Freeze comes off as dull rather than chillingly emotionless. The constant scenes of Freez and co chasing Barbara Gordon around their base get tiresome. It really is a Mr Freeze movie more than a Batman one.

Far more entertaining is the Batman/Superman movie. Sure, it's made for TV, but it's just so much fun, and centres on the difficult, post-Crisis relationship between the two heroes. In fact, I'd say it's one of the most entertaining comicbook movies full stop, animated or live-action.

Yeah, I really loved the Batman/Superman Movie. While MOTP and ROTJ are both better, that's definitely just as fun - if not moreso.

I can easily pick Sub-Zero over B&R. SZ, while flawed, was still a decent effort. I find that I can only enjoy B&R while either intoxicated or suffering from the delirium of a strong strain of influenza.

At least you are capable of enjoying it. That's all Jesus asks of you.

Subzero by leaps and bound. I love it. B & R shouldn't even be compared to it.

Thou words speaketh truth, friend CCon.

The Batman/Superman Movie currently has a higher rating on the IMDb than Superman Returns (7.8 to 7.1)!

Not sure I would say it's better than Superman Returns, but.....I just picked up some DVDs, and I watched the B/S Movie ahead of both X3 and Terry Gilliam's Brazil!

I'd pick Sub-Zero. I did enjoy both but the animated Batman movies and series just have something captivating about them. I love Freeze's voice in the SZ movie and BTAS. On another note i just saw a movie which gave me an idea something that would have such a cool scene to see in B&R. The scene would involve Freeze icing Batman's cave. That's something i would have loved to see. No better way to prevent the man from trying to stop him.

I'd choose Batman: Subzero by a mile. I just can't stand Batman & Robin.
