it was random arm candy. stan lee is credited as himself in the movie. not sure what to think but it would be funnier if tony confused stan for heff and it suggested stan lee was living it up.

I'm pretty sure Stan Lee was simply playing himself. That's the humor behind it.

It was probably one of the better Stanmeos.

I liked it but wish they could've done it like in the novelization.

Tony: "Hey Heff, oh I'm sorry I thought you were someone else."
Stan: "I'll say I'm someone else........Excelsior!"
Tony: "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Excelsior. If you'll excuse me."

I don't think this is the case. I think it was just Robert Downey Jr. ad libbing that moment because wardrobe dressed him up to look like Hef. The look of confusion on poor Stan Lee's face is priceless. I can say easily this was the best Stan Lee cameo for me.

IMO this is Stan's Best cameo in the marvel movie saga.

I was laughing like crazy when Tony mistaken Stan for Hugh Hefner at the premiere event .
