Do you like your name?

I remember my parents telling me a while back that when I was born, my father wanted to name me Dyron(wtf) or after his father, who was Burl(as in, Burl Ives)

. They finally settled on Terrence, but I know I would've endured a bit of ribbing in school had they went with another random name because they were high back in the 70's or some **** like that. I don't mind any ethnic oriented names, but some people tend to go overboard with it. Do you enjoy the name your parents placed upon your ugly baby head, or ever considered a different one?

I'm glad I don't have a generic name. It makes me feel like I have a special purpose in this world.

My mother wanted to name me Christopher Robin. Thank God my dad named me after him instead.

Kevin is a stupid name. It's too damn common, and no black person should be named Kevin. I'm not saying it's wrong, but it's just not right for me. It looks stupid, too. K-E-V-I-N? ew. maybe if it was Kevon I'd be happy with it... MAYBE

I think my pothead parents did a good job, first and middle name go very well together. I perfer my father's last name,but legally I have to use my mom's,ugh,it's way too common.

I have a friend whose black and his name is Kevin. To me it's a normal name and not something stupid like Kimeesha, RayShawn, DeShawn. And don't give me that crap that they are African names or they are keeping it real. It's that their parents hated them. Just like when white people name their kids Billy-Bob, Cletus or Suri.

I think mine did a great job. First and last name flow very well. There's a song and a movie with the same name, but I don't know anyone else that can lay claim to it.

Names like that piss me off to no end. it make me think "Why would your parents give you a name like that? It's not creative, it's stupid." but trust me, I've heard worst combos than that... WAY worst.

But my name, in my family, makes me feel like an outcast. My brother' name begins with a Sh, my sis' name begins with a Ch, but sounds like it begins with a Sh, My mother and father both begin with J, then there's me, Kevin? where the hell did that come from? My name is WAY too normal as a whole. The only thing that makes me like my first name is my middle name, followed by my last.

No joke though, the other day a lady called to reserve a room at my friend's work and he had to put her on hold 'cause her last name was "Poogash". That's bad.
