I thought it was alright; I was 15 when it came out. Nothing to rave about, though.

I thought it was never released on DVD because nobody knew who owned the rights. If that's out there, I need to get it.

"Wolfman's Got Nards" was definitely one of our group's college quotes in the late 90s. This thread makes me want to go back and watch that movie for the first time in probably 15 years.

I'm both ashamed and proud to say I saw this thing projected a few months back, and some of the cast were there also. Absolutely geekerific.

The Goonies would kick The Monster Squad's sorry ass!

Sloth for the win.

Monster Squad was better as it was a mix between The Goonies and The Lost Boys. It's not quite as family friendly as The Goonies, yet not as serious as The Lost Boys. In other words, the Monster Squad porridge isn't too hot or too cold... it's just right.

  • The picture that Frankenstein's monster takes of Patrick's sister undressing in front of the window is actually of a blonde girl in a black shirt.
  • According to director Fred Dekker the film was cut by ca. 13 minutes because some executives didn't want it to run more than 90 minutes.
  • Dustin Diamond had a small role as a kid who tries to sell comic books to the boys, but this was later cut.
  • Liam Neeson was paid for a bit part that was never shot.
  • There is a poster for the Lucio Fulci film Zombi 2 (1979) visible in the background of the club house.
