agree. for me there are three things that make a superman movie
1)Brando
2) John Williams Music
3) Powerful opening credits

Brando tried his hardest to escape these movies during his life. Why not honor that in his death? It was unfair of Warners to wait til the second he died to snatch up the footage and let Singer have free reign over it, and to do it again is just as bad.

I dont think Brando is necessary for a Superman movie per say; but since Superman Returns established that relationship between father and son but didnt give them a chance to converse for the final time; I'm hoping MoS allows that for a sense of closure.

The ending dialogue from the deleted Fortress Advice scene from STM would be great for Jor-El's final words to Superman.

Oh f***ing well. He shouldn't have done the movie then. I have no sympathy for Brando, he was well compensated for his time.

I think you are missing an important point. Like all orphans, Superman shouldn't have a total sense of closure. There should always be a sense of uncertainty regarding Krypton, Jor-El, and Lara.

He was compensated to do A movie. Not every movie involving Superman for 30 years. He didn't agree to this, plain and simple.

There will always be uncertainty considering that last speech would mean the Jor-El program is completely gone and Kal-El will never get ALL the answers he needs; especially in regards to his latest Kryptonian foe.

I suppose, I've never seen the footage in question...but tearful goodbyes just don't do it for me. It comes off as hokey in my eyes.

Oh its not really a goodbye scene, it just works at one; some of the dialogue, if used in MOS.

Jor-El is describing to Kal-El some advice regarding his purpose on Earth and ends with "were it not for vanity why, I could embrace you in my arms...my son" and then he fades away:

It starts about 5 minutes into this clip:

I like the vanity line. Especially if it were done like TAS where Brainiac (and Krypton's refusal to believe their technology could be wrong) is what leads to it's destruction. None the less, I don't like the idea of using Brando against his wishes.

Cry me a river. I wouldn't have paid him for the rest either. It was a hack job to begin with.

Wouldn't it be cool if they used a younger Jor-el to tell a backstory of Brainiac? Then it wouldn't tread on Brando either.

That would be cool but he would have to resemble Brando to some degree so it flows.

Slightly... More importantly must have a similar vocal tone.

I actually didn't like Brando in the movie. I'd prefer they started fresh and used somebody else.

Oh yeah, I know. It's just, that footage is so old now. And I didn't like it to begin with. But meh. That's the least of my concerns with the movie. I could live with it.

I want Gene Hackman to play the US President too.

That'd be sweet.

they could alwys do some motion capture stuff to make it look classic brando and use voice recordings to have him say what ever he wants
