My personal opinion is that this hobby is more about attempting to gain a sense of power in life where there normally is none.

Hmmm, what possible hobbies can one do that requires LOTS of money and yet this person doesn't have to pay for it. And gain some sense of CONTROL because they have none... What could one do, I wonder?

I got a hypothetical situation.

Let's say I know this guy who plays baseball only 4 times a year due to monetary limitations because he's in some sort of league.

Then you have others who's been playing ball like a few times a week since high school or college.

Who would you feel would be more knowledgeable ones here?
