The "What If? Marvel" RPG

This game is similar to the Marvel RPG, However it is based off of What if's, so the players can shape a new world of marvel.

RULES:

-Players can choose any hero/villain in the Marvel universe, No God-Like characters(galactus etc). Only two hero's/villains may be taken up as a maximum by any one player, all must be approved by game-master.

-The what if's stem from the 616 universe, not ultimate.

-WHAT IF= When you submit a character from, you can submit a 'what if' that will shape the marvel universe, obviously they all must be approved before accepted, and with the character roster will be a 'what if' roster.

-No Killing. Unnamed faceless NPC's may be killed, but not comic characters. Someone else may want to take up the character, or they may be important to another story.

-You can go anywhere on Earth, or travel off planet, but do so within your characters means.

-You are your character, so act like it. Talk like them, use there dialouge. Do not exaggerate your powers, or pop-up here and there without explination.

-Several stories can be going at once, and you have the freedom to interact with other characters.

-No Time Travel.

-You must post at least once every two weeks, though it is preferred that you post more. If you go two weeks without a post without prior notice, your character is up for grabs.

-You must have at least 50 posts on the Hype boards to be eligible to play

-And of course, all regular rules of the Hype apply.

-Have fun.

WHAT IF'S:

-XAVIER and MAGNETO's roles are reversed, ie: XAVIER is against humanity, Magneto wishes to save it.

-PETER PARKER never rid himself of the symbiote, being consumed by it.

-DAREDEVIL killed the kingpin and took up his position as the crime lord.

-RICK JONES is the HULK, and has almost total control.

-WOLVERINE is stilll under the control of Weapon X.

-Only SANDMAN'S childish side remains from the split.

-BEAST never suffered his further mutation

-VULCAN grew up with his brothers, and is now on MAGNETO'S side.

-MR. IMMORTAL joined the avengers after growing up in New York.

-The Phoenix force inhabbited ROGUE instead, and she ended up joining MAGNETO'S brotherhood of mutants.

-GAMBIT never gained control of his powers and they corrputed him.

-NORMAN OSBORN never went insane, and became the HOBGOBLIN instead.

-BIG BERTHA was self centred until her rejection from society, where she was take in by the brotherhood.

-GHOST RIDER was saved from his deal with Zarathos and bonded with Yeshua and Azrael to become the spirit of redemption and execution.

-TONY STARK made ironmen for the government, whilst keeping the ultimate upgrades for himself.

-When FRANK CASTLE'S family was exectued, he was shot and suffered brain damage which fractured his psyche and distorted his memory and mind.

-ADRIAN TOOMES was a police officer, forced into retirement, upon BLACKI DRAGO'S death, he took his equipment to become the VULTURE and continue fighting crime.

-JEAN GREY was abducted by the Shi'ar as they thought she possesed the phoenix force. However learning she didn't, she was sent to earth to retrieve the one with the phoenix force.

Known Powers: An Omega-Level Mutant. Franklin Richards is a mutant with vast psionic powers. When Franklin achieves the conscious use of his full powers, he will have telepathic powers, tremendous telekinetic powers, the ability to fire enormously powerful energy blasts, and the ability to rearrange the molecular structure of matter, even up to a cosmic scale.

Reality Manipulation (latent): ability to manipulate reality itself. Nigh-omnipotent reality warping powers on a potentially infinite level, even up to a cosmic scale. His abilities are so great that he can create “pocket” universes in alternate realties. (A pocket universe is a cosmos that does not equal our own in size).

• Molecular Manipulation: ability to rearrange the molecular structure of matter, even up to a cosmic scale.

Telepathy (latent): He can read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of 250 miles (on Earth). With extreme effort he can greatly extend that radius. His notable abilites include:

• Telepathic Illusion: ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.

• Mind Link: ability to develop a mental link with any person which remains as a connection to that individual.

This includes the power to crawl walls, lift over 10 tons, the proportionate agility and speed of a spider, and a sixth sense that warns him of impending danger (Spider-Sense).

With the symbiote, not only are those powers amplified, but he's given new ones like organic webbing, bulletproof protection, and the ability to morph and create new clothing.

Peter Parker used to be one of the greatest heroes of all time. Forged by the combination of a radioactive spider bite and a hard life lesson to endure, He went onto become a superhero called the Amazing Spider-Man. However, during a galactic level war, his costume was torn, so he was given a new one in the form of a mysterious black orb. The orb crawled onto him, making his costume turn into a black and white alienistic substance. Peter revelled in the power it gave him... But unknown to him, the costume was taking over his mind. Now, he's not one of the greatest heroes of all time. Now... he's something else entirely.

I hate a mate who was ona board where they had proteus in the RPG, and he basically ruined it by being too powerful, don't want that to happen, although very imaginative choice I must say! I'm trying to base characters around what if's so we make sure we get some very different stuff to the normal 616 RPG.

We could do with a Magneto is anyone is interested? Would be cool having him as a hero

Character you would like to play: Rick Jones/ The Incredible Hulk

Powers and a brief description of the character in proper English: Rick lost his parents at a young age and grew up at an orphanage. He gains notoriety when he accepts a dare to drive out to a bomb testing ground in New Mexico. As luck would have it, the gamma bomb designed by Dr. Bruce Banner is being tested. Dr. Banner races to protect Rick, but is unble to as he absorbes the gamma rays that first transforms him into the Hulk. At first Rick was a monster, but after a few hours, Rick fought and gained control of the Hulk. He is not as emotionably unstable as Dr. Banner and Hulk is easier to control. Now Rick posses the ability to transform into Hulk at will and shows the same intellegence levels while in Hulk form. Dr. Banner, feeling guilty over not saving him, follows Rick as his friend and "sidekick"

Yes it's all in the same universe, so obviosuly no what if's that conflict. and yes there are two characters max, but people who've proved themselves as good posters can only take a second, and from the other RPG i know you're good We only need like 2 or 3 people before i can set up the season

I think it should be one universe, but the GM is going to have to make sure the ideas don't step on the others toes... Which means now there can be no Kingpin or Venom player.
