When you put it like that it was almost as bad as Eve of Destruction, where people like Logan were constantly thinking how much Cyclops had supposedly changed. His hair was longer, his costume was darker and for the first time in years the writers weren't ignoring him!

Eh.

But still, Logan wasn't exactly worrying about his *hairstyle* alone, lol.

No, he was also shocked to see a man, who in the past has used his optic blasts to clear a pool table and to shoot centers of coins, show off his with his powers.

Not quite the same thing as blasting the f**k out of people.

If you've seen Spider-man 3;

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Wouldn't a similar scenario like the one presented with Osborn and Parker have been better? Wolverine could ask a badly scarred Cyclops to join in the final battle. At first Scott refuses but then when the X-Men think all hope is lost Cyclops makes his grand entrance in full costume.I think i could stomach his 'death' much better if they did it like that. Or something similar....

An article from the magazine 'Men's Health' regarding James Marsden.

Source:Find your sweet spot

Actor James Marsden has learned the secret to excelling in every part of his life: Stop trying so damn hard

A few years ago, actor James Marsden -- you know him as Cyclops from the X-Men films -- learned a horrible truth: Perfection, that mythical state that bewitches so many of us, is pure fool's gold. How does he know? He achieved it -- or got close, at least -- and it sucked.

Consider the physical ideal: single-digit body-fat percentage, shredded muscles, abs that could grate Parmesan cheese. That's what every man (and his woman) wants, right? Several years ago, Marsden worked hard to lower his body fat for a photo shoot. He reached his goal but was a dehydrated, miserable husk. Sure, he had the six-pack and the carved muscles. But his face had melted down to skin over bone. "I looked in the mirror," he says, "and I looked ill."

That unhealthy physical "ideal" turned out to be bogus. Marsden found that he'd betrayed his own happy, balanced lifestyle for a shrink-wrapped set of abs he'd have trouble maintaining. He refuses to make that mistake again. "You shouldn't have to give up things that you love in life," he says. "Yeah, you want to look good, but it's not necessary to look like the statue of David every time you take your shirt off. I'd rather look healthy, have a sound mind, and be comfortable in my own skin."

That's a challenge we all face: how to find our own sweet spots in life -- with fitness, with relationships, and with career. Marsden, 33, has some good ideas, and he's used them to develop a satisfying, complete life in a town (Hollywood) and a career (acting) in which tranquillity can usually be reached only by using a thousand-dollar-an-hour yogi, or something cooked in a spoon.

Exercise For The Joy Of It
It's a different matter if you have to lose weight, but if you're lean and healthy, why make exercise unpleasant? Marsden takes everything outside unless he's training for a role. "The gym mentality doesn't work for me," he says. "It's too isolating. I have to be outdoors chasing a ball. And I feel substantially better about myself when I do." His sports: basketball, volleyball, and occasionally football -- always with his buddies.

Master A Few Things
Marsden is a self-described "hobbyist." That doesn't mean he takes his interests lightly, however. His hobbies: singing, guitars, piano, home recording, and photography. "I hate being mediocre," he says. "If I really want to learn something, I immerse myself in it. That consumes every ounce of my thoughts until I'm really good at it."

Control Your Inner Mirror Addict
Take it from Marsden, who works in the vainest industry in existence: Liking how you look is okay. Loving it, however, is poisonous. "I've seen people get sucked into that addiction of reaching goals," he says. "It starts something in your brain. If I could just add another inch to my biceps, you think. Then you achieve that. You think you'll be happy, but you won't be, because someone will walk in with arms bigger than yours. So you get wrapped up in that psychology of bigger, bigger, bigger, less fat, less fat, less fat. But if you could step back and look at yourself, you'd go, Oh my God. Never in a million years would I want to be caught up in that."

Crave Structure
Marrying actress Lisa Linde in 2000 and having son Jack (now 6) and daughter Mary (almost 2) was anything but a ball and chain for Marsden. "I needed the structure [of family life]," he says. "I used to be the type of guy who would aimlessly do whatever he wanted. When you're single, you don't want to change or give up what you have. But for me now, the challenge is wanting to spend so much time with my kids, because it's so fulfilling that it's hard to do anything else. I like being in my 30s. There's something about being married and having kids that makes you feel strong and fulfilled. My confidence is high. All that structure has something to do with that."

I wouldn't like Logan asking Cyke to go to the battle and he refusing...
But I would love if Cyke spent the whole movie in a coma, and then in the middle of the final battle he appeared

Hahahahahaha, seems really funny. James parts made me laugh. Nice to see him in a new register. I think I will see it on the cinema. Mostly for him, and Patrick Dempsey.

He will get the girl in his next movie '27 Dresses', unless I'm very mistaken.

Though he must be the most adorable the other guy I've seen.

all of the bigger movies he's been in (x-men, superman returns, the notebook), he's lost the girl

i can't remember if 10th and wolf involved a girl... the alibi didn't per se, and he was kind of the central guy in heights (which is a great movie if any JM fans haven't seen it)

but yeah, 27 dresses sounds like he's going to get a girl no matter what...... unless the plot twist is that they both ditch him

Nope in Superman he kept her, Superman just flew off so he kept her.
X-men he kept her, no one took her away from he since she might have killed him.
Notebook yeah he lost her lol.

for all intents and purposes, i think he lost the girl in SR... lois loves clark, it's just a matter of time.

the x-men series is certainly debatable though.

In X3 I think Jean was out of her mind. But in X2 she clearly chose Scott.

I don't think he's playing the groom who's marrying Katherine Heigl's sister. I heard Ed Burns is that guy. I'm guessing Jimmy's the guy she ends up with when she comes to her senses.

Does anyone remember my post-X3 Cyclops-lives fanfic "The Fires of Resurrection"? I started it a year ago tomorrow. For those who care, it's now finished. FINALLY. Two new chapters are now up. If you care, the story is here. I'm sorry it took so long, and I'm sorry to do more press for this story for those of you who don't care, but I'm glad it's complete. Now you won't have to hear me hype it anymore.

She clearly chose Scott in the first one when she was preparing to reject Logan and he just interrupted her to save himself from having to hear it. She just chose him repeatedly. 'Cause he's awesome.
