Default Seperate Pintable Covers for the Ultimate set!

Heres a challenge for all you artists out there. Howabout making DVD covers for the discs in the Ultimate set? The way the box is designed makes it quite inconvienant to get at the discs everytime. However I don't want to just have them in blank cases either. I'm also not terribly impressed with the new seperate covers. So howabout making a series of alternative covers that we can print out for ourselves. The skys the limit!

the STM cover is awsome, but the SII could be better, the front is fine but the back looks real amaturish.

These are images from a set of art prints DC put out in 1978. I think they would make fantstic material for covers. Does anyone have these or scans?

Ok I've been working on this for the last two weeks. It uses the awsome Jim Dietz artwork from 78'. It's designed to be used with discs 1 & 4 of the 4 disc set i.e. the theatrical cut. I think the other cover above is perfect for discs 2 & 3. Now since I don't have a way to host the hi-res version you'll have to email me to get it for now. Perhaps some kind soul will see fit to host it somewhere. Til' then just email me at mst3kpimp@aol.com

Heres my second cover attempt. I've combined the fantastic Superman 2 cover image another person did "name?" with the Donner cut cover and added a few touches. Once again if youd like the hi res version email me.

The artwork itself is great, but the cover is not. There's just too much on there, and cramming it on doesn't help one appreaciate any of it either as it's too small.

For the front cover, the reflection isn't necessary, it looks odd and messy. Just make the picture of Reeve larger. For the back, a single picture would suffice, with the text over it.

Ya I understand your criticism. The pics from that art series were not shaped in a dvd-friendly manor so I had to compromise. But it does look better in actual hi-res size and is certainly clear & detailed once printed. Alas, it's my first attempt at a cover so I guess it's my baby that I feel attatched to.

I think you are close to a good cover, the idea to use the artwork is a great one. You just need less of everything.
