Halle Berry Calls Out to X-Men Fans

We received a lot of mail from fans about this one (sorry folks, we were traveling), but when Halle Berry won for "Favorite Female Action Star" at the People's Choice Awards on Tuesday night, she called out to X-Men fans. Here's a good summary of what she said from XMenFilms.net:

"I had no idea you guys loved Storm so much! Wow, thank you, thank you. And I want to thank Tom Rothman for allowing me to play Storm, and Brett Ratner for allowing Storm to finally use her cape and fly this year." said Halle Berry at yesterday's People's Choice Awards.

"But I have something to ask you guys. You guys really love X-Men? Ok, here's what you have to do. Write letters. Every one of you in this building who love X-Men and want to see X-Men 4, write a letter to Tom Rothman at Fox and tell him so and you will get another one, and I'll be there too."

Wasnt Halle berry agreed to be the single worst part of the movie? and isnt the only thing that would save an X MEN movie is if X4 came out and said "we were just kinding about X3!" That movie was MARVELS CATWOMAN with LOTR BUDGET! It is even up for "WORST MOVIE OF THE YEAR" by the Movie Guy! And it deserves it!

How in the world could they bounce back from that huge pile of crap???

yeah because shes not gaining any fans at the studios acting the way she did with the contract negos of x-3.F-her and X-3.No more xfilms until singer or somone better comes along.singer would be Ideal because he could resurect his own series.Id love for strom to be beaten if theres another one.

Um X3 wasn't that bad infact it wasn't bad at all. I liked X3, it wasn't what is should have been but I enjoyed it. X3 was Catwoman bad? Please, give me a phucking break. I've seen far worse then that get supported by fans like that snooze fest "The Fountain". Maybe I'm insane, but that was a garbage movie that was trying to be artsy, but since it's Darren Afronsky or whatever it's a good film that the braindead mainstream didn't get, which also includes the Academy.

Halle isn't bad, infact she's a decent actress, but she was just totally miscast for Storm, and I've always felt that. Blame Hollywood racism and closed mindedness. I don't mean the type of racism that hates blacks or other minorities, but where studio execs and directors look at a role where a person of color is needed and go "we need a black actor or latino actor so who's popular now in those communities" A truly good Storm could've been found if Singer and Fox took the time to audition black actresses. Heck Singer didn't even develop Storm or Cyke. Heck no I don't want that man back if an X4 is to get made, and after what he did to Superman he needs to stay the freak away from comic films.

I'm all for an X4, just no Simon Kinberg or Zak Penn. Ratner is actually fine to me for director, so long as Fox gets some real talent to script the movie.

Let's all send Tom Rothman letters for an X4, that have a clear set of guidlines like the the ones he gave Kinberg and Penn.

-Must include Cyclops.
-Must find a better director.
-Must not treat the source material like newpaper in a dog pen.
-Must not be rushed.

Their script was actually fine. Do you or do you not realize that it was the FOX execs that gave the writers criteria to follow on the script. Ie, more screen time for Hugh and Halle, killing James Marsden, etc.

Just write a letter or email. It doesn't hurt. Having a fourth x-men movie is better than nothing. They should keep them going. They will make tons of money.

Someone wants to be a future movie exec someday...having a fourth one is better than nothing? No it isn't, especially if they're gonna treat the remaining characters as bad as they did in X3.

Hell no!!! I do not want a X-Men 4!!! All of the X-Men movies sucked!!! I love Halle Berry, but she was the wrong person for the role of Ororo...oops, I mean Storm. Amazing they only mentioned her real name once in all three movies.

I do not want to see Halle in X-men 4 hell i would have prefered her to die in x3! no wait no, x2!!! She's only saying it cause she got more screen time in x3 (which sucked)

I don't know if I want an X4 or not. I liked X3, but had they not been oso desperate to wrap up the franchise it would've been a lot better. And I never really wanted Halle as Storm, my all-time favorite mutant (see avatar). I don't think the way X3 ended really left much room to continue the story.

Yeah, we got to get Singer back I mean look at the great job he did making Donners Superman 3. Man there is no one better to make an awesome action-packed original comic book movie without plot holes like him
Face it people he is never nor was he ever coming back to the X-men franchise the minute is was possible for him to do Superman movies. Blame Fox all you want but he is the one that put Superman before X-men and knew he wasn't coming back the minute he got the job because WB would want sequels right away leaving no time to do future X-men movies.

What was in there script? I didn't know they had a script written that the Fox Exec's had them redo or change. This is first time hearing of it. You know after seeing Penn's work on Elektra and Kinberg's work on XXX2 as well as script polishing on Catwoman, Charlie Angels 2 and Fantastic 4 you'll forgive me if I'm not sold on either of these guys. You say their script was fine? Well judging from their past works i'm not convinced they would've churned out a masterpiece had Fox left them to their own devices.

How about we write that if FOX really cares for the X franchise to hire a quality director and screenwritting team. Singer did not make good xfilms. They just didn't suck. He screwed Cyke over in both films and although I love Halle Berry both him and Fox cast her despite her being wrong for the role. I don't really want to get into Superman Returns but I will add something anyway.

When I read where Singer said and i quote " I made my first chick flick" the red flag went off in my head with enough force to rival Katrina. I swear that i nearly got up and left when I saw supes after doing his peeping tom on Lois fly off with a tear in his eye. If my kids wasn't there I would have left.

I don't see how anyone can defend the story or plot of SR. I'll give the movie props cause it was a beautifully shot film and the fx was top notch, but to spend over 200 million on a rehash of the past films action sequences and the story of a successful woman's boyfriend who leaves her and then walks back into her life after she moved on and had his kid. Could've been told far cheaper in a romatic movie with Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey without involving superman.

After the flop that SR was, and yes it flopped, now we'll never get a Darkseid and New Gods story. If ever there was a time to use Darkseid as the villian it was when a 200 plus million budget was approved. Ahh the possibilities of that amount of money in the hands of a Cameron or Speilberg doing a Superman movie. Instead we get Lex's weak plot on real estate again and not much of a danger in my eyes the way he was portrayed, even though I like Spacey's performance. Sup throws a kryptonite laced chunk of land into spaced? give me a break. Kryptonite doesn't slowly overtake Supes, it hits him quickly, no way he would've made it with that high up with that chunk of land with tons of kryptonite surrounding him. I guess singer and crew felt it would show determination, whatever.
