I LOVE Supes Returns.
I'd also love to see J.J. Abram's Superman and Superman Lives!

I love the scale of JJ's script. It would be beyond the budget of even a $250m movie. The super-powered battles would dwarf anything currently on film.

Just started reading the Abrams script...I love it already. And it has something Singer's film lacked...ACTION!

I know. Singers movie was emotional. Abrams script was Comic Book Action. |

the Abrams script was crap. if that had been made there'd be three times as much criticism than with SR. it took way too many liberties with the material and the characterization for Clark was way too Peter Parker-esque.

I don't have the time to read the Abrams script. But isn't that the one where Krypton never exploded, Superman had the venom suit and Lex Luthor CIA agent and citizen of Krypton? I'll take SR thanks.
So people would rather that because it has big boom booms? How sad.

no, I'd rather have it because it's a comic book movie, not some "Superman in real world" movie

I can't stand Abrams' script. 'Suit in a can', Kryptonian Lex, Krypton not destroyed, some cliched 'chosen one' prophecy, that ridiculous resurrection scene. **** that. I'll take SR, even with its flaws.

So by that logic Batman Begins is the worst movie ever?

No, because Nolan got Batman begins perfectly with the lighting, the use of color, and the expressions in the environment... It's more of a comic book movie than SR will ever be.

Ok, define comic book movie because you're confusing the living crap out of me right now.

the best modern interpretation of a comic book movie today is Spiderman... Batman begins is a very close second. The reason I give it to them is because they understand how to use a comic book environment in a somewhat believable world.

JJ. Abrams script was an abomination in my opinion, the guy didn't get Superman's world in the least. That being said, I do love almost all of what Abrams has done, film and television. He is a talent in my opinion, he just didn't grasp Superman at all.
