Hold up a minute, I don't recall Joker ever falling through an open air chemical plant anyway in TKJ, he was already inside when he hid from Batman in the sewers, they were robbing the place so they were already in there.

Yes, though parts of the plant were open air, and the contaminated water that did the damage was part of the river. Yes, it's possible, and it would be nice. Too similar to Batman, though? |

Plus, if you have such obvious script contrivances the backlash will inevitably be far worse than the suitability of it's location.

They were never inside.....Batman comes swooping down from the skies and scares Red hood into falling into the contaminated water...Red hood then swims through the contaminated water and climbs on shore nearby...he then takes of his hemet and sees that he has come to resemble a clown. It is an outdoor facility, look at the artwork. I believe that during the story they also mention that thered hood or whoever her is before he becomes joker walks through that plant on his way to work everyday, which is why the thugs want him in on that job.....It is outdoor, itowuld work perfectly with the Narrows.

Here is me definitive view of the issues surrounding Joker in TDK.
His hair/skin, and filming in Chicago: Simple enough, when the pics came out of the Chicago shooting, and we seen Ledger with no make up and brown hair, people flipped. Was he going to apply make up? was he going to have any at all in that scene, was it an origin? Well, there are plenty of reason why we can believe neither is the case. We got the spy shot of Joker, no doubt about that. What would be the sense in going full fledged Joker in a scene that didn't even need a full fledged Joker? I still hold the belief that, which seems to be becoming popular again after the latest wave of news, he is in fact painting himself a flesh color and dying his hair brown in the movie. If you recall correctly, in Batman #1 (which happens to be where Nolan said he is getting a lot of his joker from) not only is Joker in the habit of disguising himself, but he does it the exact way in the comic as it seems he is doing in the movie. also, we have plenty of sources (sides, and Miranda's info) that his goons think he is dead or missing. Don't you think that, if your boss had green hair and white skin and came up missing, and then some guy in a mask was in a car with you who happened to have the same thing, you would be like, "hmm, that's a bit strange!" Joker origin: I think it has be debunked yet again, and that he will have flashbacks in a way. I think it will go like this. Batman will "look into it", and try to understand who this man is through his detective work (which gives him all the reason to use his detective skills in this movie), to look into Joker's past. He'll get small bits and pieces, but nothing very definitive at all. Nolan is a smart guy, and with Goyer not only helping, but for this one will be actually on set helping out, it is hard to believe we will get any origin anyways. I think the Dark Knight will try and figure out Joker, but he won't find anything useful or helpful. Joker smile: Simply put, for me, I don't mind much at all what they do, as long as it isn't too extreme. If it is done well (which it probably will be anyways) then bring it on. I think ti is safe to say it won't be too extreme, as this movie is meant to be too "Hostel". Like i said though, it is not what is done, but HOW it is done that matters to me. |

Some Joker/TDK news from Jett.
* The Joker is “The Joker” throughout the film. There could be some classic Nolan “flashbacks” that vaguely hint at his origin, but there is no big “Joker origin story.” * My guy “Chicago Extra” was correct in his description of The Joker (Heath Ledger), but there is a reason that The Joker’s neck isn’t white, but is “flesh-colored” (and I’ll leave it at that). * The Joker will wear purple in the film. It may not be a literal translation from his comic book suit, but he wears purple. * A “gash smile” is a better description of The Joker’s grin than “cut smile.” * Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Rachel has a bigger part in TDK than the character had in BATMAN BEGINS. * The Scarecrow, played by Cillian Murphy, will be back. * The new Batsuit will be more “fabricky” -- this jives with what BOF was told months ago. The bodysuit is said to be a tad lighter, kinda grayish. “Fabricky chain mail” was the description. * Montoya, yes. Bullock, no. |

Okay, I just made a Joker manip based on the information Jett got from an extra in the bank scene. Keep in mind I have a limited understanding of photoshop so excuse any crappyness on my behalf. The extra said he has white skin that stops at his neck, blue/gray sunken eyes, green/brown hair, a red smile from mid cheek bone to mid cheek bone, and will have a 'gashed' smile. Here it is:

I think with the gashed smile, his mouth will actually be widened, not just have the surface scars that have been seen on numerous manips. The effect is to make his smile more dramatic. I feel that this is completely unnecesary. The Joker is best when he is simplified. Let his personality do the scaring. |

Well for an accurate source, Jett said Scarecrow will be back, yet Cillian Murphy has said he won't return

What do they mean His skin will be white down to the neck and thats it? Does that mean his hands and everything will be flesh colored too? I dont think I like that.
