With the news that Katie Holmes is being replaced but the character of Rachel Dawes remains, this begs the question...would it be possible to replace Lois? Personally I had no problem with Kate's look or her acting as Lois. I think she was decent, she didn't sparkle nor did she choke. I do know however there are many that believe otherwise. Is it possible to replace her? Would it make sense? That being said, could other characters be replaced? Perry White? Kitty? Jason? Again, I am not saying they should be but I would be interested in all thoughts on all characters.

I have to be honest: I could tolerate Holmes as Rachel than I did with Kate as Lois.
If she left then......I wouldn't mind.

Holmes is being replaced mostly because of scheduling conflicts. Unless Bosworth doesn't have an open schedule when shooting for the sequel is prepped, then I don't see her being replaced.

I do believe Bosworth is signed for 2 more Superman movies, were as Holmes was only signed for 1 Batman movie, so i dont think MOS will have the same problem.

If you believe that, then god bless ya. She is dong a movie with a 12million budget with Queen Latifah. She passed on Begins to do this? I don't buy it, it's either the Tom Cruise factor or Nolan didn't want her back.

i seriously think Bosworth was a miscast. Singer doesn't cast his females very well. the only female i can honestly say that he casted perfectly was Lady Deathstrike and even then she had a small role. i like Famke as Jean Gray but i would've went with someone different....
...Bosworth as Lois Lane, however, is a big miscast. he needs someone like Parker Posey to play Lois. so...if Lois is recasted, that's perfectly fine with me. if not.....oh well....

I agree with Dorkyfresh about the miscast, but I wouldn't be upset one way or the other.......Kate just needs to eat.

Shouldn't we have higher standards for the portrayal and casting of Lois Lane.

![]() If she was just told she wasn't wanted or needed in the film, I don't think it's because Nolan didn't want her back. He obviously liked her performance enough to not fire her mid production. She probably wasn't brought back because of her supposedly taking attention away from Begins and bringing it all over to Tom Cruise and War of the Worlds that summer. Quote:

I didn't really mind Holmes as Rachel either, it's not as if Margot Kidder was a great actress, and she surely wasn't easy on the eyes. There is no "WE", you think WB is reading your thread right now and is saying, "Wow, Wormy T. has a point, we do need higher standards." Nor do they care if I liked her or not.

Of course margot Kidder isn't as hot as some other girls who auditioned (on DVD extras) but shes super spunky and acted the part very well. She also had great chemistry with Reeves. Bostworth is easy on the eyes but her part was written all wrong and she played the character all wrong and even at that she was just so unlikable. Again, this is Superman, a legendary character. We should only settle on greatness for the main characters. Lois is such a big part of superman you'd think Singer would have given more of an effort. I firmly believe there was some sort of deal/union thing that was involved with her casting. I couldn't stop thinking of how Parker Posey was so much more like Lois Lane while watching. They don't need to read my post to know higher standards are needed for the sequel, the box office returns and dull reviews are proof enough. She was also nominated for a Razzie. Personally I think SR should have been nominated for more. Perhaps in a 'biggest disappointment' category, or 'waste of money' category. |

Why the discussion? Scheduling conflicts are a daily Hollywood phenomenon, do some research. Everyone is looking into this waaay to much.

Bosworth should go plain and simple and so should Singer. Have no problem with the rest.
