Because he is the best everything ever and in absolutely perfect physical condition... would Batman hit a home run every single time he stepped up to bat? Would he strike a batter out every single time he pitched? Could he, as a quarter back, throw the ball 100 yards and be there to catch it on the other end? Would he never ever be tackled? Would he always score a goal when he got the ball or get a hole in one every time he swung a golf club? I mean, he's already the best magician, detective, fighter, astronaut, cowboy, scientist, leader, strategist, doctor, chess player, environmentalist, and super hero of all time... so isn't he also the best athlete? Please... this is not sarcasm.... what do you guys think?

He is allegedly the best athlete in some sports usually played in a horizontal mode.

Batman actually played in the NFL for several years under the pseudonym of Johnny Unitas.

And, unbeknownst to most men, he scores perfect 300's at Franks Bowl and Bar.

Around the fortieth home run he'd hit in one game, he felt bad so he ran up to the stadium owner's office and convinced the owner to let him play for the other team. The owner agreed. Batman changed uniforms and hopped into the batmobile... he drove around to the back of the stadium just in time to catch his most recent home run, finally giving his team it's first "out". He had a lot of prep time for this, though.

Batman would be a great middle linebacker. He'd be right at home reading the play, calculating the quaterbacks next move. Looking into the eyes of the tailback, and then leveling him. Bats is a scrapper. He'd have to be into something physical and disciplined. He's got alot of pent up hostilities, hitting a homerun wouldn't be a good outlet for him. He has to kick someones @$$.
