I speculated as much a year ago that War Machine would make a great spin-off character.
Thats why Terrence Howard signed on is to star in that spin-off film. |

So... the spin-off of a film about a dude who uses a suit of armour to battle villains, will be about a dude who uses a suit of armour to battle villains?

I'm all for it. I even liked him in his alien War Machine days.

A Downey cameo would make sense.

I'd like War Machine to be in the Avengers.. if they were really doing a spinoff movie for him.. it would have to be different enough thematically to entice non-fanboys like us..
one option is to base the plot on the Chuck Austen MAX War Machine stories, though those were 'rated R', more or less.. also, they could do a reworked adaptation of christopher priest's THE CREW series (for as long as it lasted).. Rhodey, Josiah X, Danny Vincent, etc. |

Although i like the idea, i would rather have War Machine developed in the Iron Man sequels, and team up with Iron Man to take down the Mandarin.

I think War Machine will be viewed by the public as too close to Iron Man. I don't know if a spinoff is the greatest of ideas. I'd personally love it, but I think it will confuse the commoners and possibly bomb.
