Chloe coming to DC Comics in 2008

Well Kurt Busiek (writer on Superman comic) says they are looking to bring Chloe into the comics in 2008.

We have plans for Chloe, tentatively scheduled for 2008 -- but we're still waiting on approvals from the appropriate executive types.

Yeah, this is so old, Busiek has been saying the same thing since 2005. He hasnt told me anything new here.

Personally, it all depends how they use her, she will probably be an old friend of Clark's working for a rival newspaper and has been put in charge of finding out Superman's identity.

How did I come up with that? Comics are fairly obvious.

I'm against almost anything that further links Superman comics to the steaming pile of feces that is Smallville, but Chloe's actually the one part of the show that hasn't completely sucked in every episode. Granted, I quit watching it a while back, but she seemed like a reasonably good character, at least by comparison, when I did watch it.

She's probably the best character on the show right now, specifically because they raped Lex of his manhood on the show. But they seem to be ****ing her character up now by implying she is a metero freak.

Chloe also has the patented Chloevage.

i wish they would just keep the crap from the movies and tv out of the comic... it really doesnt bring in new readers... it only serves to piss off the dedicated ones...

i will concede that if chloe was the only thing to crossover from smallville i wouldnt mind... but unfortunately these things tend to be floodgates...

i knew someone would bring up kryptonite! haha! anyway... back in the days perry and kryptonite were borrowed from other media, the portrayal of our beloved comic characters for the most part happened to stay very true to the character and ideas while every once in a while adding in something useful... now-a-days its common practice for movies and television to deviate heavily from the source material, many times producing something that is unsatisfactory to the original audience (supes returns? recent seasons of smallville). unfortunately some people dont seem to be able to differentiate fairly good elements (like chloe) from the bad (donner run on AC anyone?) and think any idea from another medium is acceptable to add because, hey, its a broader audience! but in reality it isnt... at the end of the day most of those people that didnt buy comics, still wont buy comics... and most people like me that do, will drop garbage like action comics

Most of the time, I can't stand Chloe. She's used as a crutch to speed along the ep or conveniently tie-up plot lines. She should be working for friggin' NASA or something. Busiek's been on this kick forever, so I just shrug it off until I see something concrete.

On the other hand, if they bring her in, there's the ever-minute possibility that she could kill her off. That might prove satisfying. Hmm.
