Yep. Glad they're gonna show the two doing more with their time than pranking each other. I'm sure we'll see a prank or two, but it's important to have balance and this kind of scene is very welcome.

I like how Johnny is momentarily mortified and offers to pay for damages.
It's hard to imagine the Johnny of FF1 even caring.

Wounderfull clip. Thank's. You can tell Chilkis moves a lot better in that new suit. Lot less effort. The dart scene, where he says I feel like such a screw up. Nice to see they have bad days also. The flaming dart device was cool,. How did they get the cars in the scene where Johnny, and The Surfer blow by, to roll over like that ? I saw no crane or pully. Sounded like a gust of wind. Allthough I'm sure that is the way the scene is. The wind from them blowing by turns the cars over.

Yep. Sweet clip. No real spoilers there. I agree, Johnny was a bit too smart ass, in the 1st one, even for comic Johnny Storm. If Payne wrote him, to soften him up a bit, that is a plus. Everything I have seen so far concerning this film "feels", and "looks" right. Can't wait to see it all on the big screne.

I do not feel they will cut as much as they did in the 1st one. I really don't. This movie is going to have more action then you can shake a stick at. This film will not sit still for long. It's going to fly, and if you blink, you will miss something. This is the kind of film that was needed, and the fans wanted, after the plodding pace of the 1st film.

And that is the problem.....

1. Sue and Reed, Reed focusing only on the machine, building it......Sue reading letters and feeling overwhelmed by helping people...while her family seems to be falling apart....(classic F4) CUT

2. Ben assuming every look is at him....realizing just how different he really is now......and Alicia seeing only the heart......(classic F4) CUT

3. Bar scene Johnny being a smart ass, realizes people don't see him as positively as he thought.....reminds him of Sue's wisdom.....(classic F4) CUT

Sorry, I just trust Fox to say......"Can't wait to see it ALL on the big screen"......

If we see all we have seen so far......I will be totally surprised...........as well as plesantly surprised......

I agree. I'm guardedly optomistic. I don't trust Fox when it comes to editing. If you will remember, I was most upset with the editing of the 1st film. They cut the heart out out of the 1st one. Mabey wishfull thinking on my part. However in Tim's last entry, he seems to be very involved in the editing this time around. He comments how their working on things, to get it ready. I think in the 1st film he had no say in the editing. He seams to be very involved this time around. Time will tell.

I have to say that when I finally saw that footage, I was genuinely shocked beyond words as to why it was removed. It added so much depth to the film, and different perspectives on things. It really did seem like they cut out anything that could have vastly improved the movie. I am hoping and praying that is not the case this time.

No, I don't remember that.......I remember excessive fighting over the fact that you thought it was a great movie, and then BO proved it......but ok.....I do remember you coming on board the editing bandwagon after many of us mentioned that was what we thought was the major flaw of the movie........but hey doesn't matter.....

They need to do a better job.....HOY according to his filmography has done some spectacular editing......Fox needs to stay out of the editing room......I don't think its a matter of letting Story in, but more of locking Fox execs.....OUT.....

I have all 5 seasons of 24 on DVD. They have 1 disk that has every deleat scene they took out all season, and they explain why they cut things. Timing, and slowing down the pace of the story, and repeating things, are 3 of the main reasons, they cut. I fell that was Fox's thinking. Time, and keeping the story going as quickly as possible. I do not think pacing will be a problem in this one. I hope they realize they will need the dart scene, and others to keep the pacing of the movie correct. If they cut all that out this time, we'll have an action movie, with no soul. Nobody, even myself, wants a FF action movie, with no heart, or soul. Heart and sould are what made the FF comic as great as it has been, and why it has survived 5 decades.

I was actually just thinking that, in terms of the big scale of the movie they had to shave off stuff to make it seem like there was more going on in terms of action. That shouldn't be an issue this time around though based on what we are hearing, there isn't really an excuse for doing it again. I fear that the movie will still get condensed for whatever reasons though.

A little more added detail.... all of the cars had big air pressure tanks in the trunk that had to be filled up with air before each shoot, a time-consuming process. The last car (seen in that picture) was the only one with that type of jack. The rest of the cars, that just "jumped" had some sort of air ram they slid under the car, as I remember.
Anyway, it took them a couple of hours of rehersal and filling up the air tanks, so they only did a full run-through twice, and they had multiple cameras.
