Tough choice. Skynard are certified legends. Who knows how long they could have went on if not for the accident.
Petty has been around a long time, man. That's gotta count for something. He's still writing hit songs and he's been doing it since I was just learning to walk. On another note...just wait for the barrage of "You Forgot... Is/Was From Florida " .

I'm so happy this wasn't a thread about Marylin Manson vs Backstreet Boys like I expected.
I'm so disappointed with myself that this what I expected.

hmm, this is tough. to me, the only god album skynyrd put out was their first album, pronounced. and tom petty has put out numerous fine albums. but that one skynryd album is pretty much better than anything petty ever put out.

Longevity vs. Impact Actually it's irrelevant to me because the best music artist to ever come out of Florida was Jim Morrison.

I like when Trina says "M.I.A.M.I. BAY-bay".
No, I don't like it. I love it. |

I'm always been a much bigger Petty fan than Skynryd, so I'll got with Petty

Tough choice. I went with Petty because his music really means a lot to me. That and I'm not a huge, huge Skynyrd fan. I like Free Bird, Tuesday's Gone (One of my all time favorite songs), Sweet Home Alabama and a few others. With Petty, I really like a lot of his work.
