Some International Women's Day this is.

I don't see any good reason to celebrate International Women's Day. NASA Astronaut, Lisa Nowak, has been reported to be fired. Some American teacher has been charged with a sex crime with a 16 yr. old girl. Egyptian feminist, Nawal al-Saadawi, is being sued in her homeland, so she's taking temporary residence in Brussels. In Afghanistan, women serving in the coalition forces are celebrating but most of the country is in turmoil and women still aren't safe. I don't think foreign involvment in the Middle East have helped in women's right there. Better progress seems to come from women who actually live there.

and the day we should celebrate ANY "women's day" should be the day we get a world president that dresses up like Wonder Woman.

Yes there is. We celebrate it over here. I even got a flower today. It's a half dead flower but hey, the thought counts.

I didn't even know it was international women's day. Can't be worth all that much if my mother didn't think to mention it given that the history of women's rights is her pet subject.
