TDK CHICAGO FILMING LOCATIONS/DATES

The Dark Knight aka Rory's First Kiss will be shooting scenes in Chicago from now June until September. I'll try to update this as regularly as possible with upcoming filming locations and dates with the help of sasquatch's map the members of this forum and the web.

MONTROSE and BUENA the west alley of Kenmore

Filming Dates - June 14, 9am to 5pm
Details: ON THURSDAY, JUNE 14TH, FROM 9AM UNTIL 5PM, THE CHICAGO POLICE, WILL BE INTERMITTENTLY CLOSING ACCESS TO THE ALLEY BETWEEN MONTROSE AND BUENA.

PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR CAR IS LEFT IN WITHIN THE POSTED, PERMITTED, AREA YOUR CAR MAY BE TOWED.

It says to expect some delay if you need access to the alley during those times. If you have any issues with this regarding deliveries or construction call the locations department at 773-583-3956

They will also be blocking access to Buena from Sheridan west to the alley.

CUYLER and CLARENDON

Filming Dates - (Speculation) June 14
Details:There are flyers up on Cuyler and Clarendon stating that there will be no parking due to filming of "Rory's First Kiss".

111 E. Wacker Drive

Filming Dates Unknown
Details:Presumed that this will used as Bruce Wayne's Gotham Penthouse

NAVY PIER on Lake michigan near Streeterville, close to Chicago's downtown

Filming Dates Unknown
Details: Set construction is progress. What will be filmed is unknown at this moment.

BRACH'S CANDY FACTORY on Chicago’s West Side near N. Cicero and W. Lake Street

Filming Dates Unknown
Details:Crew plan to 'blow up' factory.

Found the following on desmodus01's journal. Right next to his office they're building sets and props for the TDK shoot in Chicago plus 10 Batmobiles are been stored there as well! He managed to get a pic of one.

So... at the risk of having a bunch of rabid fanboys run down my office building... I'll tell you the kick ass news.

Maybe photos later as well...

My company moved into this new office building this past December. It's an industrial type place with lots of space. One floor. Warehouse type deal. Well the 3 similar offices next door were completely empty. Until a month or two ago that is.

You'll remember that Batman begins was filmed on location in Chicago. Because I live/work in Chicago I recognized most of the places the batmobile drove through... even through the extra CGI.

The company that moved in next door... does the props for the new Batman movie that's currently being filmed here in Chicago.

And just a few minutes ago, I stood one foot away from the batmobile.

It was ****ing awesome.

My friend took some pictures. In one of them... you can see my car standing right next the batmobile.

How bad-ass is that? I'll tell you how bad-ass it is... VERY ****ING BAD-ASS!!!

And what's cooler is that they have like 10 of these in the warehouse. TEN BATMOBILES!!!

I guess they're going to destroy some of them or something. Their building sets and props all day. I can hear them through the walls of my office.

It's very distracting, but in a cool way.

I'll write some more if I hear/see anything.

The Dark Knight: An Update

So... today, my next door work neighbors, aka the guys who are building sets/props for the Chicago portion of The Dark Knight (BATMAN Begins sequel) are having auditions right here for some part in the movie. I see all these guys show up with suitcases and the like. Must be a lawyer part. Or some extra work.

This is so cool.

But regardless... it's freakin cool.

I saw the other day they working on the batmobile again. Had the hood up and everything. Man is it great... maybe Christopher Nolan will show up. Or Bale... or or or... Heath Ledger. In full Joker costume...

UPDATE
The following is completely unconfirmed but this person who looks like he works in the film industry had the following on his site (Not linking to it for reasons already stated) It looks like it's for TDK and Michael Caine did say that Los Angeles was one of the filming locations.Could be wrong though and it might be for something else.Take it with a grain of salt. Thats why i'm not starting a new thread on it.

Btw = Retroman, I had noticed the "shooting dates" for Rorys First Kiss on the chicago film board, but rumor has it that they shoot in chicago for a little bit in April, go to Cardigan till June and then come back. So if the Batmobiles are there now, shouldn't there be shooting dates for next month?

I don't think the body work has been put on it yet to minimize damage on transport.

Either that or Bats has made some modifications to make it faster and more lightweight.
