i dont follow superman at all (except for Superman/Batman), but i was just curious whats been happening to her in the comics. i guess i only ask because ive been watching smallville, so she popped in my head. last i heard she divorced Pete (maybe got back together) or something. is her character explored much in the comics? are they using her more because of the show?

I don't think so. At the end LEx gets taken down by Steel and Co., but throughout 52 Lex is still in charge.

I haven't been reading 52 at all, so this might've been explained there, but is there any particular reason why Lana was picked to be LexCorp's new CEO? As far as I know, she has no experience.

I believe it was explained in the first issue of the first Camelot Falls arc. The first issue of Superman post "Up Up and Away" I believe. I can't remember the exact reasoning off the top of my head.

It was the second issue after Up, up, and Away, actually. The only reasoning that was given at that time was that she served on a few charitable boards while she was in Washington as Pete's wife.
To me, that reasoning just sounds really flimsy when you're talking about handing an entire company over to her. If they just wanted her to be simply another member of their board of directors, then sure, absolutely! But being CEO? WTF? I was hoping that there might've been another comic where they elaborated more on the subject (perhaps 52?).

I dunno, it doesn't seem THAT far-fetched to me. Look at Hilary Clinton. She had two ventures into actual policies when she was first lady, and both of them failed, yet she was voted Senator of a pretty important state without a second thought. Granted, being made a CEO is a bit more out there, but then, comics are usually more out there than real life.
