Basically a divorce lawyer has a rather risque billboard downtown here, and it's gotten national press for some odd reason. Not that serious, but hey.

With so much going on in our World today it is nice to know that we as a society are focusing on the really important and relevant issues of the day like that billboard

I don't see whats so wrong with that, not considering some of the billboards we have around here.

People get worked up over the smallest and dumbest things and this is a prime example.

Because some people are stupid and aren't satisfied b!+(#ing on message boards like the rest of us so they have to tackle "serious" social issues like bilboards.

The billboard is low-class and promotes something that is usually a very difficult and private issue. It once again lowers the value of commitment opens the door for similar if not more socially degrading advertisements like it. I know, the easy response is just to say, "what's the big deal? It's not like a real adult could see that and have it be the catalyst to get a divorce." And you're probably right. A key problem is that when you put something like that in wide open plain sight, you open the door for people of all ages to be able to read it. You start teaching any kid that can read that divorce isn't a big deal, and therfore marriage has less value as well. I'm involved in an issue with my town right now (just outside of Chicago) over a billboard that says "Adult Toy Store - exit here." My niece is old enough to read (5) and asked to get off to go to the toy store and we had to explain, or lie rather, about what kind of toy store it is. There are more classy and tactful ways to bring excitement and drum up business instead of preying on the lowest common denominator.

Uh, no. She's five. If she were older, or maybe my daughter - then it would be right. At five years old she doesn't need to know that stuff. She doesn't even know what sex is yet.

People without kids always say tell your kids the truth. When you have them, you'll get it. The faster you grow them up, the faster they're doing stupid ****.

Which is exactly why this billboard isn't a great idea.
