Sucks. Don't care what sales say. Just because he can keep an ongoing book doesn't mean that that book is consistantly good. Hasn't been good since the late 90's.

It's been shaky off and on. I loved the first couple of arcs with the relaunch, liked it when he was beatin' on Nitro, and I'm enjoying the current arc very much in spite of its mistakes. But yeah, it hasn't been consistantly good in a while.

^To bad really, until recently I dont feel they (MU) have put the effort into this book.....guess they think that just because Wolvie is in it they dont need to make an all out effort to make the book actually good.

Yep, same thing happened to the Spider-Man titles in the late 90s/early 00s. Terrible storylines and lackluster effort ("After all, it's Spider-Man, the book should sell regardless of what crap we shove between the pages." ). Almost makes me think that the same thing would have to happen to Wolverine before they put the same effort into reviving the character like they did Spidey, though he has yet to reach the same cash cow status as the wall-crawler.

Don't feel too bad though. Spidey's level of overexposure is rising once again (much of which I blame on the movies), and the rumors I hear of possible storylines for later this year make me think I'll be spending less on comics come 2008. Wolverine's exposure has been toned down significantly, and if Marvel could get consistent, solid writing on his solo book, while keeping the number of his other appearances to a minimum so that he doesn't saturate the market like he once did.

^I agree. I mean Wolverine is holding down two solo titles now - and they both could be amazning. He is in Astonishing and New Avengers - and they are both solid titles. The problem lies in extending him beyond that (like he shows up in Blade?????) Come on.

I dont know that Wolverine could ever be a cash machine like Spidey - just for the simple reason that, well he has metal CLAWS as his weapon of choice. Spidey is safe. Wolverine - not so much.

It's also ridiculous for someone's healing factor to regenerate the entire body after it was burned down to bone...

Actually, I was just saying that it's stupid for any healing power to kick in if there wasn't any brain activity for even the shortest of durations.

Exactly why can't they stick him into a furnace for hours and wait for the brain to *stop* regenerating??? It's not as if the thing worked on batteries that were fireproof and would last until the next forever, right?

What, you mean you want to read a story where the hero might actually DIE?!?!? Where's the fun in that?

It makes it a bit boring to watch a Wolverine fight for me. You know it's either going to go one of two ways. Either he's going to cut the bad guys to pieces, or he's going to get his @$$ blasted, fried, diced, or otherwise torn apart, heal up, then cut the bad guys to pieces.

Well, maybe not *DIE*, but the god-mode thingy takes away some of the thrill.

I've got Seagal flicks if I want to see an action hero (well, back in the days anyway) play on god-mode. And don't get me wrong, I love the f**k out of old Seagal flicks since they're such ridiculously funny violent vigilante ego-fests.

But in a universe that's supposed to be about *heroics* rather than mind-numbing violence/cruelty??? It's harder to just laugh it off, really.

I don't recall a time frame in teh protocols, but I would think after an hour without a head, Wolvie would be pretty screwed.

Didn't mention it cause Seagal's usually the one in a blood vendetta mood. You know, the classic scenario of Seagal doing his own thing, bad guys doing something mean to friend, family member or the f****n environment and then Seagal getting pissed off.

Never was a big fan of solo Wolverine titles, but is he really *that* proactive??

Only thing I liked about Seagal is in one of his *lame* flix he would rather be a Navy cook than a Yeoman (paperwork) - and even that isnt that cool when I think about it.........but you most likely like Jean Claude too huh? Double trouble and all.

Oh, yes. Seagal is hilarious. Sure, they're all funny (http://www.ruthlessreviews.com/80actionguide.cfm), but Seagal's ego and sadism really put him in a league of his own.

I meant it in a 'Wolvie going after people just for the hell of killing them' rather than either searching for his past or have them pop out of nowhere out of the blue. Proactive as in, ya know, an actual vengeful purpose.

Old Jean Claude is classic. That pink/turquoise color scheme in Double Trouble is a howler. Bloodsport has one of the most touching homoerotic scenes EVER (the hospital scene, you know what I'm talking about). In Kickboxer, his character says he learned ballet rather than martial arts. That, and most funny of all, JC actually *tries* to act. Good times.

Except for one tiny difference.

There's a rumour going around that there are quite a few people that wants to see Wolverine in as many books as possible..just like there are quite a few people that would like nothing more than to see Segal retire allready.
