So- i doubt that a "minor role" would be "throughout the entire film". What is the definition of a minor role- AND WHY THE SECRECY IF ITS A MINOR ROLE?!?!?!?!? What would be the point? I believe his role is a major plot twist and will have an effect on the third film. I just have no clue what role he will be playing. like the rest of you...

Oddly enough, I do have a clue who he will be playing - as logic clearly insinuates a certain quizzical mind with a fetish for green bowler derbies - of course some refuse to admit the obvious.

I just watched one of his interviews.
It's the first I've seen of him. I must say...he's very Riddlerish. |

You've never seen him before Wikum? He was the nerd in Breakfast Club, the jock in Edward Scissorhands and another nerd in Weird Science. |

"Dead Zone" star Anthony Michael Hall reports the plot of the latest Batman saga, "The Dark Knight," is so secret he's forbidden to even say what character he's portraying. "I signed a confidentiality agreement, and I can't say which part I'm playing because it affects the story," says Hall. "I can't give away the suspense — it's a $200 million surprise, and I don't want to be the guy to ruin it." |

Never seen Breakfast Club. I loved Edward Scissorhands as a kid, just like I did Beetlejuice. I don't remember either of them very well though.

You could very well be on to something! According to that scooper he might be playing someone that is good but also bad. Holiday Killer was bad but good in the sense that he was helping them out with the case. I don't know wether to ignore the idea or roll with it..................... |

It could be a huge twist at the end of the movie the way Nolan likes it and it has already been established in TLH. I think it is has a fighting chance as much as his role as the Riddler.

I also think it has a fighting chance. It's funny how they have been saying for quite some time one of the big influences for this film is The Long Halloween and most people instantly thought Riddler or fake Batman. Then there's me with the Falafel assistant.

There were more than one who claimed to be the Holiday Killer. Go back and read it again and give us all a book report on it.

More than one who CLAIMED to be...yes. But actually it was a girl who was the Holiday Killer most of the time with the only murders that she wasn't responsible for be Maroni's dad and Falcone.

Either way you're thinking about the Calendar Man. That would be cool if AMH was the Calendar Man but I wonder how they would put him into the movie considering The Dark Knight is partially based on TLH. Not completley based on TLH. My money is still on Vernon Fields. |

It was Gilda Dent, except for the the two you mentioned above. But for this movie's purposes- I could see Nolan developing AMH as a "Holiday Killer" character. Vernon Fields could be a good guess- but why the secrecy about it?

If the character's identity is really so significant that it effects the course of the whole movie, then I don't think it can be The Riddler, unless he is revealed as some sort of mastermind behind everything. AMH surely has to be playing someone whose very existence would cast the characters we already know in some new light. I don't really buy the "real Joker" theory, because I don't think AMH is an actor of that calibre and I don't see why Heath Ledger would want to play ball....
...Maybe he is Thomas Wayne?

There might be secrecy over the role because unless you've been reading the spoilers you wouldn't know that Two-face is in the movie. Vernon Fields is a dead give-away.

He's clearly playing the bad half of two-face's face. throw a little purple make-up on him and you have a whole new achievement in cinema.
