wow, that was a highly misleading article title. the guy WASNT asking guilliani anything, guilliani wasnt even present, he was questioning one of his aides. and he wasnt arrested for asking him questions. he was asking the aide questions (very firmly), the aide obviously was trying to ignore him, but the dude was removed from the premises and only arrested when he tried to re-enter.

sure, the aide seemed to come off as a political douchebag. but seriously, what did you think was gonna happen? these guys were practically TRYING to get arrested, just to make a big deal about it.

Thanks. The very first think I noticed as well was "hey, where's Giulliani?".

Yeah there are rules to press appearances, and that guy was obviously trying to make a big deal about it, to the point of not producing documentation when asked for it. The Aide says, "Show me your documentation, and we'll discuss it," but the "reporter" just continues to yell conspiracy theory hoo doo at him. I don't think explanation is necessary by anyone but the reporter. This is not a world where you can shout things at political figures and not expect to be escorted out. Constitutional rights are meaningless when it comes to safety unfortunately.

He was asking the aide very firmly yes, but he was doing nothing wrong and should not have been escorted out. Giuliani's aide could have provided a simple "no comment" and that should have sufficed. Where are you getting the info that the guy tried to reenter the premises?

you really think that if the dude said "no comment" the 'reporter' would have just stopped? please, he was borderline harrassing him. people now a days dont know how to protest. if they guy had any sense in him, he would have been far more prepared, resourceful, and respectable. i mean, if he wanted a serious answer from him, he shouldnt have shown up sticking a camera in his face crying liar liar pants on fire. as for the re-entering thing: there was an article preceeding the video, read it.

There's something to be said for the fact that this type of thing doesn't happen to respected journalists.

He's probably happier that he made a spectacle (since infowars.com exists because of their ability to create spectacle) than he would have been if his questions were answered.

Respected journalists usually don't act like that.

i will say respected journalists are too safe and soft when pressing for the truth, probably in an attempt to appear non-bias, but what the way this dude acted was just idiocy. i do think journalists shouldbe a bit more hard edged though when dealing with these politician types.

When the Aide asked for documentation, th e reporter said he had it all on his laptop if he'd like to go sit down for 20 minutes. The guy was being civil, asking politely, but with a little extra gusto. He had a press badge so how was he violating anything by trying to re-enter the building? Of course mainstream reporters ask questions only the person would answer. I give props to this kid for having the balls to stand up for what he believes in. Two centuries ago, the founding fathers did the same thing and were considered heroes and founded this great nation. So who's really the unpatriotic?

Exactly.

And incidentally, the reporters "Constitutional Rights" were NOT violated by preventing re-entry as the First Amendment right to free speech, while essentially absolute when applied to private citizens, is NOT absolute when it comes to the press.

Additionally, this was a private political gathering and so despite the issuance of a press pass he could be kicked out and refused re-entry so long as the kicking out was not arbitrary or based on something defining like race or gender.

Essentially this guy is just ******ing to raise a ruckus. This is NOT "Nazi-America" this is an idiot raising a stink because he misinterpreted 50+ years of Supreme Court (with both liberal and conservative Justices abound) precedent regarding his rights.

If this is real, that's pretty f'ed up. I'm getting really really sick of Rudy over-using his involvement in 9-11 to make himself look good.

Just got around to watching the video (actually, the longer version where a camera follows the guy outside for the actual arrest), and I gotta say, that guy kind of comes off as a badass.

This is such unconstitutional Bull****! Rudy should denounce this, and he should quit politicizing 9/11.
