Legendary Pictures & Thomas Tull Think Superman Sequel

Fact of the matter is, it Warner's and Legendary were so gun ho on it, it would have been in production all ready. Even though it is a bad film, look at how quickly Batman and Robin was in pre-production after Batman Forever hit. Look at how quickly Batman Forever was in production after Batman Returns. Look at how quickly Spiderman 2 and 3 was in production after each previous film. Look at the Dark Knight. Hell, Warner's wanted to start earlier on the thing. Fact is, no matter what the trades are saying, it isn't green lit. There is no script (which is funny as dougherty and whats his name where in a room working on the script for the sequel before the movie was being released. They even said they had a big protion of it done.) All that leads me to believe that the WB is putting the breaks on this thing until they see what TIH is doing.

Meh, the only reason I used Inside Man was because it's the only other movie besides SR which came out in that period that's getting a sequel. I could've been talking about The Devil Wears Prada for all it matters.

It just occured to me, Angels and Demons is also around the same stage as SR2 at this point (But will be finished quicker because it's due out next year I think).

TDK took a long time to get off the ground, i remember this time last year the news on TDK was absolutely dead. So that comparison doesnt work i'm, afraid. As for Spidey 3, you do realise it was out 3 years after Spidey 2 dont you?

maybe because BB didn't do very good in term of box office result, and they thought SR could be their cash cow and they wanted to make SR sequel right away. unfortunately, thing didn't go as planned. and TDK was greenlit right after WB had learned the disappointment over SR.

TDK was definately greenlit before SR came out, but the news on it was VERY slow, just like it is for SR2 now, however, i would say we know more about SR2 now than we did for TDK this time last year.

Honestly, for a long time the news on TDK was absolutely DEAD, its only in the last 6 months it has picked up.

You're ignoring an important factor. Even if there was no news on TDK, we knew it was happening, it was confirmed, had the greenlight. The only reason for the hold up was Nolan doing other movies. SR on the other hand does not have the greenlight. Same with Angels and Demons and practically every other sequel you mention.
