Default Question to collectors

i'm just starting to collect transformers, and i was wondering where the best place was to get some of the old G1 versions of figures was. Should i ebay them or is there a good website with good prices. i don't mind if they are reissues either, thats not a big thing for me.

I'm specificly looking for Optimus, Jazz, Prowl, and Soundwave.

thanx

Garage/yard sales, flea markets and ebay are good choices.

I'd say a website is your best bet. Ebay is a scalpers paradise.

Jazz and Prowl have 2003 reissues that usually run into the $35-$65 range. $35 is the usual price for the Hasbro version, $65 for the Takara version. Soundwave has a recent reissue from TRU. It's the Soundblaster mold, which was altered to carry 2 tapes and had a black/red colour scheme. That comes with Ravage and Laserbeak. I have it, highly recommend. Also around next month Takara is putting out new reissue series called encore. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, and Soundwave are the first wave. I've put down a preorder for Prime from HLJ. And am probably going to get one for Megatron and Starscream.

Some are a bit overpriced, but you can find some good deals.

www.FortMax.com is hands down my number 1 go to guy. Fast, easy, reliable and cheap for any looking for loose items.

www.Transformerland.com is also great. But it takes them forever to process orders so you really have to get after them. But I got a mint Bluestreak from them with all accessories for $50. Can't beat it. Series 4-7 stuff on there is wicked expensive. This guy will also sell you anything...and I mean a-ny-thing. Right down to order forms, comic books and box inserts like tech specs and sticker cards.

You'll pay an arm and a leg on ebay, go to FortMax.com, it's the best.

Really. I had the opposite experience. I ordered from Tranformerland and Fortmax and the Fortmax order was by far the slower.
