Pretty damn cool. I've been enjoying the Mythos line thus far so I'll be picking this up.

Aww man, how many times does AF#15 need to be retold? I glanced at it in the shop. Nice art, but nothing made me want to buy it. I'd rather creators focus on coming up with NEW great stories, than retreading the same old great ones.

I thought this book was sweet... Anyone with a decent scanner and a copy of this issue wanna post pics of Spidey from this book... I want to make a new desktop pic for my computer... Anyway, great book, hope they make more Spidey Mythos books... I mean, it DOES say #1 on the cover... Who's next on the Mythos list, btw? I want the Fantastic Four!

Read it today and despite reading numerous versions of his origin, I was really happy with how this turned out. I really loved the homemade look of the costume in the first few pages. That's how he SHOULD look, IMHO. Peter never was a master tailor so it makes sense for it to look that way. And I've always liked it whenever he wore the webshooters outside of his costume and I prefer the black and red motif to blue and red. I can't wait to see the FF one! I'm sure it'll be out sometime in the fall.

I really dug it and the art was beautiful. The only problem I had with it was the whole "Who has the power?" speech that Peter was telling the burglar. It just seemed a bit out of place. Outside of that though, it was an enjoyable read.

Aloha,
You know you are reading a good writer, when they can make a story that you are familiar with seem fresh. I enjoyed Mythos. Of course, there were elements from the Spider-Man movie in this. I think we are going to have to accept the fact that the Spider-Man movies are going to be incorporated into Spidey comics( 616 and others) as time goes by.As long as the essence of the material stays true, I can live with it.

Great art.

But can they stop telling the origin all over again?

For the 1,000,000th time....

The whole point of the Mythos line is to tell the origins of all the classic Marvel characters and combine all the different origins of the character. Be it the comic, movie, cartoon, etc. And try and make it into one cohesive origin.

I really like this take on Spider-Man and the artwork was breathtaking. It's worth buying just for the artwork.

I agree. The art this time around reminded me of Olivetti's work on Punisher: War Journal.

Exactly. This Spider-Man origin story did an EXCELLENT job of combing the movie origin and the comic origin into one, unified origin. It didn't contradict the original material from AF #15, but it also didn't totally ignore the movie. Overall, a solid read

I picked this up... and put it down... a couple of times, before the beautiful artwork just forced me to buy it!

Really nice... the same, yeah... but different. It's a classic story.

This writer/artist team also did one of my top 10 favorite Spidey stories... the SSM issue about Morbius and Joey, the kid with cerebral palsy.

I also loved the little added touch of the talk show host being Conan O'Brien.

Saw this on the shelves and while Jenkins Spidey rules and the art looks great, the last thing I need is another contemporary re-imagining of web heads origin. I know what words were exchanged between PP and the burglar in the warehouse, and they were not those inside the pages of Mythos #1.

Bought it with "Superman: Confidential#1" (which everyone's been telling me to pick up. Go read it, it's good!) and I liked it. Loved that Conan part. Pretty cool.
