Anyone in the media from your city or part of the country that you absolutely abhor?
From Indiana: - Vivica A. Fox (used to like her, but nowadays....I just don't. I have my reasons) - Fuzzy Zoeller (you know why) - Dan Quayle ( see above) - Jane Pauley(never liked her)

Julia Roberts. Her "all about me!" act on the Oscars, when Denzel won a couple of years back was damn annoying.

uhhh . . . not a whole lot of celebrities from my town, to be ashamed of anyway . . . Will Ferrell is from the Madison area, and both he and Chris Farley attended Marquette University, I believe so no shame there . . .
so that leaves Jeffrey Dahmer . . . the notorious serial killer whom mutilated his victims and canabalized several of the remains . . . he only became famous for these heinous acts, which kind of makes his celebrity shameful to begin with . . . . yikes

Christina Aguilera was born where I live, so that's nothing to be ashamed about.

As for me - I'd have to go with R. Kelly. I'm sure there are plenty more Chicagoans I can be ashamed of, but R. Kelly is just the stand-out for me. Terry78, you're actually ashamed of Jane Pauley? I can see not being a fan, but ashamed that she's from your hometown?

Some interviews she's given have me view her in a less than favorable light. She's come off a certain way.

We've got a few 'Celebs' in my area.... The main one being some tart called Jodie Marsh.
All she's known for is wearing as little as humanly possible at movie premieres in london and for falling out of nightclubs again dressed in barely anything. The funny thing is that i've seen an image of her without any of the tonne of makeup she wears and i think she looks better like that.

And I'm from Maine...so the most famous person to hail from the Pine Tree state this century is Stephen King...and I have nothing against him.
Harriet Beecher Stowe("The little lady who started the Civil War") lived in my home town...I could walk to her house. Joshua Chamberlain also lived in my home town, and he's kind of a big deal. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was from Maine, too. All our 'claims to fame' date pretty far back.

Gene Simmons, Rick Shroeder, Wu-Tang-Clan and Vice President Aaron Burr also come from my hometown. No one to be proud of, but really no one to be ashamed of either. Except Robin Quivers.

Jessie Davis (pregnant girl that was missing) lives 5 minutes from me. I drove by her house everyday... It's pretty crazy/sad. News trucks were there every freakin' day... and there were a crap-ton of flowers at her door.
Halle Berry went to the same high school as my father (but not at the same time). Drew Carey lived in my same exact dorm building. He got kicked out because he was having a toga party on the roof... the admins were afraid it would collapse... he refused to come down... they kicked him out. He was a sophomore. |
