Greg Land and Todd Nauck? Seriously? And the Kuberts' recent work has left a lot to be desired.

I loved Nauck's simple, cartoon-y style in FNSM.

Land's photorealism is spectacular. Yeah, he traces, but I just can't make myself give a ****. Sorry.

Honestly, I like the Kubert's recent work tons more than their old stuff. It's probably just cause of the coloring though; their old stuff's coloring seemed very...computer generated. Their work on Batman and Action seems a lot more naturally colored.

I forgot about Terry Dodson. His work reminds me of the 1940's pinups.

Land doesn't traces, he uses alot of referance, If he traced he wouldn't be working in the field.

I know they're not pencilers, but a huge KUDOS is much needed for colorists like Dave Stewart,Morry Hollowell, and Laura Martin who do much more than just color what's given to them.

Have you seen some of the comparisons between his art and actual pics of celebrities?

He definitely traces.

yes I have..If Land traces, then so do all the other artist in the field, cause they all do the same thing. You think they draw an entire cityscape, cars, roadways ect...all from memory? Alex Ross brings in actual people dressed up as superheroes and paints them. It's like saying a singer doesn't use telepropters to remember all their lyrics.

I almost forgot Greg Capullo for actually being able to combine gritty imagery with anime-ish cuteness to an extent.
