I tend to like Humberto Ramos. His "blocky, bulky" drawings have some style to them and diverge from more conventional art (to me at least).

My favourite artists are as follows;
John Romita Jr. Even his work which closely resembled his dad's, back in the day.
Ron Lim. For all his cosmic pencils...or George Perez, too.
Stuart Immonnen, due to his style.
Jim Lee, for mainly his stuff on the X-Men.

Other artists that rock, but aren't my favourites;
Cassaday.
Frank Cho
Zircher
Udon...for their work on Taskmaster, and DP.
Yu.

Artists who in my opinion, suck.
Rob Liefield
Greg Land. I don't care what most say, but he traces. It's f-ridiculous, get me a job at Marvel please. It's not called talent, it's called tracing. What also bothers me, is that his previous work didn't involve tracing...and it looked alright. Damn lazy, if you ask me.

I never cared for Cassaday..his style looks...blah! and his Wolverine looks like ass!!! so does his Beast who looks more like a kitten. His panels just leave open so much space it's insane...Fill up the page Cassaday!!!

I agree with Rob Liefeld cause he can't draw his way out of a paper bag,but Greg Land doesn't trace,he's heavy on the referance,He'll take the cover of Sports Illustrate SwimSuit,and turn the cover model into Psylock,Or he'll take a picture of a wrestler and turn him into Wolverine,and there is nothing wrong with doing that because they all do that. Alex Ross will have people come into his studio and pose for them and turn them into Superman and what not.

Walt Simonson said it best when he said that, if you aspire to be a comicbook artist, it's pretty much a conscious choice you have to make...."Am I going to draw in the Jack Kirby style, or not?"

Because Jack Kirby created the visual language of modern comics.

I don't really like his nickname..."King".....because it's too lowly for him.

He's not a "King", he's a "GOD".
Pretty much anything I've ever liked about comics can be traced back to him.

And Marvel comics would be N.O.T.H.I.N.G. if not for him.
F*** "Stan Lee"

Marvel is the house that Jack built.

He's God.
Countless people have built their livelihoods by getting up on his shoulders and then aping him. And I don't mean that as an insult.
He's so good, I feel that if you want to be a good comicbook artist, you have to be mimicking Jack Kirby, or it won't be good.

Jack effing KIRBY!
he's one of my favorites as well alongside gil kane

Yeah, Silvestri did some good work in the mid 1990's as well during the Image/Top Cow glory days.

Still feeling Greg Land. But lately Dale Eaglesham has topped my list again. I'm loving what he's done with Citizen Steel.
