I think it's because I like Green Hornet enough, but I don't have any sort of attachment to the material that makes me say "Okay, I'll give Seth a try".

It's understandable. I actually think you might become a "true" GH fan were it done right on film.

Anton Yelchin...very boyish for the character. He's more like Peter Parker than Hal to me.
Good young talent though.

Bruce Lee aka Kato was the real star of the tv show imo.

In the translated version in Asia they actually changed it so Kato was the star IIRC.
Bruce Lee was both a good and bad influence on GH. He portrayed a minority sidekick as a better fighter then the hero, he was a minority super star and his presence elevated GH immensely. The drawback is that he changed the public's perception of GH to much from the franchise's intent of GH being a gret pulp super-hero. The franchise can overcome Bruce Lee's impact now. The time has come for a quality faithful GH franchise. |

![]() Seth Rogen aside, I'm mostly worried about how MUCH comedy will be in there. We can already expect horrible wire-fu and ten TONS of one-liners, but hopefully they can keep it toned down. ... A little at least.

Seth Rogen Talks Green Hornet
Source:Moviehole March 6, 2009 Seth Rogen is in Australia to promote Monsters vs. Aliens and he talked to "The Jono & Dano Show" (via Moviehole) about his big screen adaptation of The Green Hornet. He told the radio show that Columbia Pictures plans to begin filming in June. It will be an origin story but not in the traditional sense. It'll be unlike every other superhero film out there, Rogen said. The film will concentrate a lot on the relationship between these two different cats - The Green Hornet (who Rogen says is just "a normal guy") and Stephen Chow's Kato (who Rogen says is the one that does all the superhero stuff). The Green Hornet, to be directed by Michel Gondry, is scheduled for a June 25, 2010 release. The more I hear the more it looks like a parody of the 60's tv show. Apparently Seth wants to become GH's Schumacher. :facepalm Last edited by The Major; 03-08-2009 at 09:37 PM. |

I don't think this is gonna be a very good movie. I mean, Seth Rogen? He's more of a stupid movie actor. Like oh I don't know Knocked Up, Pinapple Express. The Green Hornet doesn't exactly fit in with his kind of movies. Unless his version was " Green Hornet " was a drug he came up with and decided to have a fraternity party to celebrate it. That sounds more like Seth Rogen. I'm sad he has the part, I'd rather they not even make a movie than make one with him as GH.

I have a feeling that, based on Rogen's comments listed above, this movie will turn out a lot like "Without a Clue."
You may not be familiar with that film. It was a slapstick comedy about Sherlock Holmes (Michael Caine) who, contrary to popular belief, is a bumbling idiot. Dr. Watson actually solves all of the crimes and constantly saves the day, and Holmes takes all the credit. As a Sherlock Holmes fan, I didn't like that film. So I can only imagine that a Green Hornet film that plays the same way will not win over and GH fans. |

I watched a few of the Kato scenes but really the only interest of the TV show was Kato aka Bruce Lee.
