Actually I tend to insult everyone the first time i meet them.

If people can come up with a witty repsonse then they are deemed worthy of my time

If they whine and ***** like a baby then they're not

You fit into the significantly more awesome first category

I think that it's obvious that the biggest thing holding PS3 back is the price. There's lots of rumors though that Sony is planning to revamp the 20GB PS3 with a 40GB HDD, and offer it at $399 at some point in the future. If they could actually do that and get it out by the holiday season, I think they could see some absolutely amazing sales this year.

still puts it $50 above the elite with 120gb hard drive. Very few people care about HD yet and they won't get a $400 console on top of a HDTV purchase

Wrong. A $399 PS3 would be $50 less than the 360 Elite, which costs $450.

http://www.amazon.com/360-Elite-Syst...8245371&sr=8-1

A $400 PS3 before Christmas would pretty much be a death blow to the 360 Elite SKU. For $50 less you'd get Blu-Ray, in exchange for 80GB less HDD space, which most people wouldn't care about.

which is why the biggest selling blu-ray so far only shipped 900k copies

Hi-def discs are too expensive for most people at the moment

but we're not talking about most people. We're talking about the PS3/360 crowd who watches movies and plays games in high def. Nvm, I just thought most ppl went either PS3 or HD DVD.

You don't even own the movies you get off of XBL. You rent them digitally, and after the rental period ends it gets deleted automatically. Comparing video rentals through Xbox Live to Blu-Ray is like comparing DivX movie discs to DVD. I would rather own my own movies on a disc than be at the mercy of a service that I have to pay for continually.

The technology isnb't there for HD movies to be direct download en mass and capture the mass market. It just can't happen, not with the fiber optics currently in place in most of the world. Or the fact taht the Xbox 360 download service has that catching period, and it's not like you're actually buying the videos, nor do you get any extras.

and I dont believe you can take the movies to a friends house to view unless you drag your system with you
