I've heard two songs: Epiphany & Unconditional. I'm quite pleased.

I liked her first album. She is slept on, but it doesn't surprise me with what's mainstream. I'd rather he be slept on than to have her talent wasted on doing something commercial just for the sake of money and fame. Look at Beyonce. Vocally she can be one of the all time greats, but musically she sucks ass on a prison level. With Chrisette not being so popular she can stay true to what she likes as music instead of trying to "fit in." I hope this new album is as good as her first.

When did she say this? If that's the case then no wonder why she isn't that big. Sex sells, and celibacy doesn't.

In every interview I've ever read from her.

As for her not blowing up, I don't think the celibacy thing is a huge factor. It's not like her songs are about that subject.

Real singing just isn't popular, for the most part.

But she doesn't flaunt herself like someone that the mainstream audience would find sexy. For her to be a big star females have to imagine themselves being sexy like Chrisette. That's why Beyonce is popular. Dudes don't buy her albums, girls do. Chrisette just isn't someone that girls see themselves wanting to look like. It even works for Alicia Keys. There are a ton of female singers that could eat Alicia's lunch in vocals, writing, and producing. But the key is that Alicia is the right type of fine. She's got enough booty to please us black dudes, and she's bright enough for white guys to look at. That's why she's popular, and Amanda Perez isn't.

Part of Alicia Keys success is the power of Clive Davis. If Chrisette had that industry machine behind her, she'd be bigger than she is.

Clive Davis is the main factor, you're right about that. He's a powerhouse all on his own.

You are officially my friend now. I can find no fault in this post whatsoever. Not even minor disagreement.
