Default Terror Inc.

I love Terror Inc...I don't know why, but he is in my top ten characters, I think he is a really great character that just hasn't met his true potentail....

For those that don't know....he's this guy.

and for those the pics ddn't help...he's like...a really old guy, and he decomposes...so he takes other people's body parts.....his series in the 90s was full of quotes like "this arm belonged to a world champion arm wrestler)..many things like that.

He was most recently seen in the Marvel Team Up League of Losers arc.....but that's kinda dorta not in continuity now....kinda is...kinda isn;t

Anyway....How come no ones has mentioned this?

http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?id=7163

Brand new #1 coming out tomorrow...how did I not know about this.....and it;s in MAX....where it should be....this is gonna rock...at least I hope so.....

Anyway...go buy it...or check it out......it might be good...TERROR INC. RULES!!!!!!!!!!

I was introduced to him in Kirkman's "League of Losers" storyline in MTU and I liked him. I intend on giving his MAX #1 a try.

Hey, I like him too. I hope it's good, but I got a bad feeling. I can usually smell a turd coming a mile away.

Yeah, I'm picking this up. I too only know him from MTU, but like Dread said, it's a slow week. I have some extra cash on hand.

It was great.

It has a good MAX feel to it...Not overloaded with swears like Ennis' Punisher.......its just right.

They retold Terror's Origin and tweaked it a little bit.....they also took away the spikes on the side of his head....which are like...the markings of his curse...so hat upsets me.....but they did give the tale a nice new telling, and still kept the whole Shadowknights thing intact...but they added this arm thing which I'm pretty sure would contradict something from his previous 29 appearances.

Plus they answered the question I'd been wondering about his head.

Anyway, it was a good solid read, I hope this Mini either becomes or leads to an Ongoing...or at lease shows other writers who he is, and leads to more appearances....I would love Terror to become a Supporting character in Deadpool's book.

He has an origin that even ties into the old Shadowline universe, but has enough bare bits that one can embellish on some of the details in-between, as Lapham does here. Terror has lost his distinctive spikes on his cheeks, and without them he sort of looke like Green Skull. But in a way he looks more scary without them, as they sometimes looked like whiskers to me. His origin is recapped and embellished, which is always a good idea with a #1 issue, before we get into the crux of the work, which is

Terror, Inc taking an assasination job from a member of Homeland Security to execute a mole who is leaking intel to a domestic terror racket. Terror uses his unique talents to infiltrate the group, but it soon leads to a shoot-out and the revelation that he's been set up. My quibble with the gig was that Terror could have easily kept from blowing his cover by simply covering his metallic hand with a glove, but one also gets the feeling that he enjoys slaughter more than spywork.
Mrs. Primo is there to provide assitance and someone to have sexual tension with. Lapham gets Terror's personal tone right, a sarcastic, sometimes bitter sort of look at life, yet also blunt. He started out as a warrior who raped and pillaged for a living and despite becoming an immortal flesh zombie, and centuries of time, that hasn't changed. He's a scoundrel, but he is a cool scoundrel, and he still misses a woman he once loved, so he has some sympathy. I liked him before and I like him now, so this #1 does it's job. I'll definately get the rest. This title wouldn't need much cleaning up to avoid the MAX label, which always means "low sales", but at least it isn't too over the top. Marvel needs a dark corner, and this is it.

Yeah, I definately think he loves basic violence more than espionage. Remember, he was origionally a barbarian back in the dark ages. I know people change, but old habits die hard. Especially when the person who has them can't die at all. I mean, by now he must be used to the pain, so just going in and busting up the place is probably just easier for him.

Is this much, much better than the Wisdom and Hellstorm Max minis? Because these sucked hard...

If so, how does it compare to the Barracuda and Zombie Max minis? Because these were awesome...

Just curious before I end up buying any issues...

Never read Hellstorm, but it was better than Wisdom. It actually had a decent pace, and introduced the characters, and had a plot that didn't seem completely random. Damn, I was so dissapointed with that Wisdom mini. Pete Wisdom has some potential, but it isn't really being used, is it?

The first issue gave me hope that it would be really cool, but then it wasn't. But he does have potential. He's like a James Bond that uses magic and deals with other-worldly things. That's pretty cool, it just needs the right creative team.

I think if Marvel had a little more balls, they could put Max to better use. Some comic ideas just work better unsensored. Take Supreme Powers for instance. It ****ing rocked as a Max title. Then they relaunched it as a sensored comic and it ****ing sucked, right?

Plus, some characters are going to swear if you're being realistic. Especially the badasses like Punisher, Ghost Rider, Wolvie. Max could be a really popular way to tell stories of 616 characters that simply can't be told in the regular Marvel imprint. For instance, a Deadpool Max series would not only have the potential to be funnier than his normal series, but it can also show the violent, crazy, ****ed up **** that you would expect from a story about a merc-with-a-mouth.

Now think about the potential of Sabertooth, Ghost Rider, Bullseye, or Elektra under a Max series. But I'm just ranting at this point so I'll stop. I've been thinking about this for a while now...

Exclamation Re: Terror Inc.

There was one little niggle, though, about TERROR INC #1. It is that Terror had no way of camoflaging his appearence and no one seemed to care about it. Maybe at the bar where he and Mrs. Primo were, maybe he's a regular, I can understand. But I am talking about going out in public or in a lobby and it seems attracting little suspicion despite being a green rotting skull head with shades. As wacky as the MU is, that attracts attention.

I mean it is one of those little things that eat at you, like wondering why Atlantians can't swim aside for Namor, why their landscapes don't look like they accomidate people who can essentially levitate, why their corpses don't float up, how they get normal looking computers to work, etc. It's something that has always been, but could stand some upgrades.

I mean, it could be as simple as Terror literally wearing someone's face, or in this case, a head. Oh, well. No biggie really.

I still enjoyed it.

Re: Terror Inc.

Odds are, they just see at him at first glance and think he's either some mutant or body modification freak and walk away before he talks to them. Also, it could be that he has something of a reputation, so it's possible that alot of people have heard of him. At least in L.A. I mean, the guy's been around since the dark ages, and he's obviously not a huge fan of discretion.
