Default X-Men: Emperor Vulcan

X-Men: Emperor Vulcan #1 will arrive in stores on Sept. 12 from Marvel Comics. The issue is written by Christopher Yost, with art by Paco Medina and a cover by Billy Tan.

Here's how Marvel describes the issue:

"Itıs brother versus brother and the outcome could decide the fate of billions. Uncanny X-Men's 'Rise and Fall of the Shi'Ar Empire' continues here! Vulcan is the Shi'Ar Emperor and Havok is leading the rebellious Starjammers. But who is really right and who is really wrong?"

X-Men: Emperor Vulcan #1 will be 32 pages and will cost $2.99.

Vulcan is actually, IMO, an awesome character. I love his origin. But the "third Summers brother" angle on him is extremely forced and unnecessary. The whole Deadly Genesis storyarc with him would have been improved immensely had they not forced that old, tired storyline onto his character.

Gotta say, I'm somewhat divided on the Vulcan character.

I freakin love his ruthless/homicidal streak, but am not too thrilled about the EMO teen reason behind it all.

But now that he's got better things to do than whine about Chuck, he just might win points in my book.

I don't know if being pissed someone left you to die on an island floating in space while mind wiping everyone of your existence qualifies as an "emo" motivation.

Meh. It all looks pretty lame and Bru should've already wrapped it all up in his Rise and Fall arc. I'll pass.

it has potential but really, while the rise and fall of the shi'ar empire did some chool ***** it wasnt that interesting. seriously, wanna make it good? the "starjammers" should just storm the shi'ar fortress and have an epic fight with vulcan.

seriously, the miniseries is unnecessary. a one shot woulda been more intriguing.

I dont mind Vulcan either but theres been a Vulcan overload since he was created. The character needs to take a rest bc Brubaker already screwed him up. I just hope that after this arc, Havok and Lorna return to earth where they belong

I like Vulcan, and I personally think that Bru did with him what should have been done. And now I'm curious as to where Yost will bring him.

I remember how everyone was raging back in the middle of "Rise and Fall" that hopefully the Starjammers would get a mini or an ongoing once the saga had closed and finished, and how everyone was disappointed that it probably wouldn't happen. Given we're missing two of the Starjammers, but they're still the Starjammers, and Ch'od and Raja are there, who are infinitely cool on their own, and what do we have?

Why, what a surprise, more whining.

Personally, I think the preview pages look rad. And Diaz's work is awesome - so very similar to Tan's style, which makes the "bridge" between "Rise and Fall" and "Emperor Vulcan" so much easier to walk.

And Havok's leading. And Polaris isn't crazy. You know this is on my pull list.

I wonder if they'll ever have Lorna's pseudo-powers act up b/c they aren't "real"

shoot Id like to know WHAT Lorna's powers are. We got a whole year of her and all we were able to make out was that she could shoot green things from her hands. What exactly was that all about
