What's the best toy version of G1 GRIMLOCK? I'm looking to buy one with a great sculpt and articulation.

The Classics one is probably the best articulation wise. However, it's kind of loose and hard to pose.

Without question, the classics. He's accurate, the articulation in the tail OWNS, and he's reasonably inexpensive. I got my for $24 on eBay, that's including shipping.

Same here. Even the arms, which are on ball joints, seem to be a tab bit tighter than ball joints usually are.

Figures I get one with loose joints
![]() Although even with loose joints (they're the ball joints that connect the waist to the legs), it's a great figure. |

Dont worry, mine has loose joints too. Its a risk you take when ur buying Transformers. Anywho, definately pick up the Classics fig, its great for the retail price of 10 bucks.

Current released toys I would say I really like my Binal Tech Grimlock, then G1 & G2 Grimlock, Classics Grimlock, Actionmaster Grimlock, Beast Wars Grimlock, and Pretender Grimlock. In that order and all those are still the G1 Character in different forms. I know that animated isn't G1 Grimlock but he looks a lot like his G1 self I really like the looks of the new Animated Grimlock coming out...
![]() But there are new rumors too that the next Masterpiece figure is going to be Grimlock... ah a dream come true if it comes to be. The worst I would have to say is the Energon version such a let down and why the named one of the build team in RID Grimlock I don't really know unless it was just to keep the name in use. List of Grimlocks Grimlock - Autobot Dinobot Commander Grimlock - Autobot Decoy #1 Grimlock (Pretender) - Autobot Lieutenant Commander Grimlock (Action Master) - Autobot Dinobot Commander Grimlock (Generation 2) - Autobot Dinobot Commander Grimlock (Beast Wars) - Maximal Attack Specialist Grimlock (Dinobots) - Autobot Dinobot Grimlock (Alternators) - Autobot Dinobot Leader Grimlock (RiD) - Autobot Backhoe Grimlock (Wal*Mart Landfill) - Autobot Grimlock (Energon) - Autobot Grimlock (Classics)

I just didn't mention the K-mart Legends since it's just the pretender version without the pretender shell. Like the Henkei Grimlock is just the Takara version of Classics Grimlock Oh and don't forget the myclone Grimlock too and of course the Animated Grimlock. Oh the 6-inch Titanium doesn't actually come out this fall 2008 as a Toys R Us exclusive I'll be keeping an eye out for that one as well

It's not Grimlock, it's Thundercracker. Where have you been?
![]() MP-08 could be Grimlock, but the next one is Thundercracker.

II've been doing pretty good just haven't been on the superherohype boards much. I usually post over at the allspark, tfw2005, etc. But I do hope that Grimlock will be next after Thundercracker. To me the seekers have been disappointing to me. I only bought the Takara Starscream I just really wish they had made him to be as tall as Prime & Megatron he's so short next to them, and I wish they didn't change his legs from the original prototype which eliminated his hip kible. They changed to the stupid hip kible because the designer wanted the tail section on his hips to look like sword sheaths. And if they make Grimlock I hope he is at least as tall as Prime & Megatron. Hasbro shouldn't have any problems with selling Grimlock in the U.S. either. After Grimlock I would love to see them make Rodimus Prime & Galvatron.

The begin with since the Masterpiece line is being made by Takara, both a Masterpiece Rodimus and Galvatron are completely "JUSTIFIABLE" since both were very popular characters in the Japaneses fandome. And the rest of the Dinobot team were not as well liked as Grimlock in Japan as they were in the western markets so the rest of the team may not be as logical as doing Rodimus or Galvatron. And a Masterpiece Devastator would be awesome but ultimately un-affordable. Your talking about 6 different characters with the price tag of $65 to $100 each just in Takara's local market. Can you imaging how much of a mark up the secondary markets like ebay or the on-line stores will ask for any one of the figures????Not to mention shipping????? And the whole figure put together would be somewhere around 3 to 4 feet tall.Boy would that be awesome. But I dont see any of it being a "Logical" step for Takara to take.
