Default Your top ___ Toylines

So after looking at Toyfare's top 100 toys of the decade, I knew I disagreed with a lot of them. But since I don't have the time nor the ability to do the top 100 figures that I can think of, I decided to list the top ____ number of toy lines for myself. Go ahead and jump in! Try to let the lines that you liked as a kid influence some of your choices. But these are really what i consider my top 10 or so toy lines ever.

10. The Bots Master- Power Rangers meets Transformers in a toyline and show about a dude who gives AI to robots his makes from scratch. There was a big power range-esque robot called Jungle Fiver that blew stuff up in 3D. It's one of the first lines that I tried to buy up as much as I could because it was very cheap at a toy liquidator store.

9. Batman: TAS- A great cartoon, a great batmobile, and tons of great toys at first as most of them were very close to their look on TV.

8. TMNT (original)- This would be higher if they stuck to coming out with new and original good and bad guys instead of going to whacky action features and stupid versions of the turtles as clowns and monsters. A very creative line at first.
I also fit Toxic Crusaders in with this line.

7. Ghostbusters (Original and Extreme)- Who didn't want to be a ghostbuster?

6. Transformers- Never had many as a kid. I always had a few, but with their reintroduction in the last few years this makes my list.

5. Marvel Legends- I probably would have really cried over this line as a kid because I probably would have loved it but couldn't find any. A buddy of mine has a kid who really got into them but he said that his son cried a lot when they couldn't find certain figures anywhere.

4. Power Rangers- This was probably the first line to really stress me out trying to find. I was in I think 4th grade when it came out and it petered out for me during 5th grade. I never got the original megazord and I still blame my dad for that.

3. Aliens/Predator- Such an amazing line with tons of variety. I remember having so many different kinds of aliens and I love the marines. My favorites were the King and Queen aliens, followed by the Bull, scorpion, and gorilla aliens.

3a. I completely forgot! Lord of the Rings by Toybiz! Ah, to be back in 2001-2002 as the movies were coming out and to grab all the greatly detailed, accessory loaded, should still be being made line to compete with Star Wars figures. The cave troll with a rubber face where you could lift his lips to see his gums? The armed to the teeth Helm's Deep Legolas? The figure of Birthday Bilbo that I think most stores ended up throwing away because no one would buy it? This would be number 2 if it lasted longer and if the last great series for this line wasn't only internationally released.

2. Food Fighters- A weird line to be at the #2 spot over so many other great lines. But it's a very sentimental line and I think it's beyond original. Logistically, they make absolutely no sense. But they're just cool.

2a. Ok, so Exo Squad is tied with #2. It was close to being number one, but I for some reason started losing the ability to find them in later releases. The show and toy line about futuristic soldiers fighting weird looking genetically engineered rebelling slaves in exo-suits was just awesome. The attention to detail on some of those figures still is better than some stuff today. The figures looked very close to the show, they weren't too expensive, had tons of accessories, and were just so awesome.

And my #1 line ever is....

1. GI JOE!! No action figure line ever gave me as much playtime as this. So many great vehicles, tons of figures, tons of accessories. I really got into some of the early 90's stuff, like Battle Corp, DEF, and Eco Warriors. Some of my fondest memories of christmases and birthdays was getting new GI Joes and vehicles.

Honorable Mentions: Star Wars, Army of Darkness (palisades), Resident Evil (Toybiz and Palisades), James Bond Jr, WWE by Jakks Pacific, The Corps, Mighty Max...more to come

These are the top ones to me, personally.

I liked street fighter a lot, but only as a line of figures. Never really played the games or read the comics. Just liked the figures. You go post your top lines.

Yea yea. But you brought up a good point. Had to think about it for a second, because street fighter is a line I did buy up quite a bit.

Ooh, this is gonna be hard. I think I know what the top 3 are gonna be, but the rest of the list is going to be tough.

Point of order. The only time there wasn't "new" Transformers product on the shelfs was 1991. They've been out there pretty consistantly since 1984.

Seriously bro, if you are its cool, I won't be mad. Its just eerily convenient that you said that about those exact same animes.
