^ That is really amazing, the fact that he has that much dedication to training, to hit the gym at 4 or 5 am while on another movie knowing that he is going to be on set for 12 or more hours that day, it says a lot about Hugh and how serious he takes our friend Wolverine, I can't think of anybody better, ya have to love the guy.

That's Hugh for you. And by the way, happy 39th birthday today Hugh!

Here's a very funny interview of Hugh in one of the gyms in Bowen, Australia - he tried to get the interviewer to work out with him LOL! There's also a picture attached - click on link for the interview (and check out the third reply at the bottom LOL).

When Meshel Laurie, Ashley Bradnam and Kip Wightman from Nova 106.9FM’s breakfast show went to Bowen , the best they hoped for was the get somebody to talk about stars Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, who are in the North Queensland town filming the Baz Luhrmann movie Australia. Instead, Bradnam got word that Jackman was in the gym - and got this exclusive interview:

The first time I saw him playing this character, my first thought was:"Man, this guy was born to play the part." And I still think the same.

I thought the same thing, when he first came on the screen in the 1st X-Men movie, I said to my friends "That is Wolverine", he is just one of those actors who IS the character he plays on screen, he owns this role, it is his until he does not want it anymore IMO.

Yep. It's like the character was made for him, which is really weird, but great in the same time. And Hugh really brings Wolverine to life.

It is kind of scary just how perfect he is for this role, it is just like he is ripped right out of the comic. I agree Hugh does bring Wolverine to life and he is physcially perfect which helps with that, all that time spent in the gym hitting the weight's has paid off.

That picture was taken Sept. 29 at Bronte Beach.

Wolverine fans can relax. We have the perfect guy for the role. God bless Hugh! And Bryan Singer for finding him

Hugh looks like he's in great shape.

I'm kind of amazed though that nothing has been revealed about the cast yet. They start shooting in three to four weeks time and we still know so little.

Could it be the rewrites that are delaying things? I know that many actors wouldn't commit to a movie unless they've seen a script. If that's the case then they're leaving things a little late IMO.

Actually, my mistake when I posted it was taken Sept. 29. I was looking at a similar picture. Thanks for pointing out this one has NO beard - Hugh has had a beard since May for his current movie so this beach picture is before May but I can't seem to find the date. As you can see he's in great shape to begin with.

I agree, I thought we would hear more about the casting, hopefully if it is in rewrites it is only for the better, I want Wolverine to be a good movie and launch of a trilogy.

Yeah, his chest looks a little saggy, he needs to focus on some brench presses (regular, incline and decline) for that.

Hugh looks just like Wolverine..

Only as long as he doesn't stand next to anyone shorter than 6'3"..
