As a big fan of The Darkness I've seen a few cameos of witchblade and know a tiny bit about the backstory but never read an issue related to the series.
Is the series worth picking up for a Darkness fan like myself? Any thoughts on where to start? Or do I just buy the most recent issue? |

Lies!
Witchblade is one of the first comics i've read, that and the darkness. And i still think they are awesome! Pure, clean fun! It's one of the things i started with and i have good memories about it. |

It has nice art? Other than that, my brain turns off when you mention Witchblade.

There is nothing pure nor clean nor fun about a Witchblade comic book. Complete and total garbage.

Yes, there is complete and total garbage filling up every issue of Witchblade? You're correct.

Witchblade really isn't that good. It rode the wave of "hot girl" comics (well to be fair it may have been one of the comics to start that whole thing), but it isn't very good. Honestly. I think First Born could be semi-interesting but don't hold your breath.

I've tried it out and found it wanting. Of course, I feel the same way about the Darkness as well, so if you like Darkness, then you'll likely love Witchblade.

I really don't understand the recent turn of events...it just seems like a really bad way to replace Sarah as the current wielder. About the only thing the series has been memorable for is the ill-conceived TV show and the scantily-clad heroine.

It has a girl with no clothes and giant tits as the main character, and a horrible tv show based on it...and, that's really about all it has
![]() although, the Howard The Duck MAX parody was genius, with it being the Doucheblade and the only thing it did was make the wielders breasts giant and speak in cryptic nonsense

The darkness was the only thing I ever liked in Witchblade.
