what makes it worse is most of mine are films from the late 70's through to the 80's

Some films shouldn't be remade, and IMHO, this is one of them.

It´s funny but i never knew that the Original Titel of this Movie is "Poltergeist" in the States.I always thought it was translated this Way here in Germany because it is a German Word.

I don´t see a reason to Remake this Movie because it is Perfect as it is......Hollywood is really running out of ideas.

For once JAL, we completely agree about something (It's freaky I know. ) There's no reason to cry and whine about remakes of your favorite films. The original you loved is always there.

The quality of the first film is not touched in any way by a remake.

I hope this remake of Poltergeist is better than the original,I was pretty disappointed by the original Poltergeist movie now that I am older.

I guess maybe they think by having a remake all of the originals are gonna disappear. Its like thye haven't seen a thing about the movie just remake and they're crying Rape.

It's been about thirty years since the original Star Wars movie.

It's about time the story was retold.

Instead they should make a trilogy of prequels that remake the mythos of star wars .

Nah, that wouldn't be like Hollywood to come up with original storylines.

i'm kinda right.

This MGM money thing is a blessing in disguise.

Quote:
Re-Poltergeist delayed

MGM was going to repackage the frights of POLTERGEIST and serve them to you on Thanksgiving 2010, but those plans seem to have been sucked into the fearsome static with Carol Anne.

As AITH points out, the remake has been bounced to a vague 2011 release... which raises the question of whether it'll get made. Director Vadim Perelman (HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) had long been attached.
