I'm hoping the ending is different for the actual film. Ends on a low note...it just ends on a flat scene.

Judging from the trailers, I don't think he's going to reveal himself like in the book. The dialogue in the book is slightly different than what we've heard in parts of the trailers. I hope it stays that way because some parts in the book were worded better in the trailers

Well there is a part in the latest trailer when you see him get back there is a shot of a press conference and you see everybody stand up but the one girl reporter who's jaw is on the floor. And I don't see that being the first one, could be though.

That could be very true. Either way it won't ruin the movie for me if it's done that way.

Definetly have to agree with what you had said earlier about loving all the Mandarin references. I especially love the one where

Yeah that also makes me think they will have him being a businessman, which is the best way to do it. I loved how Stane took the ring.

I dont want anyone to tell me any spoilers or plot points from the film, but i have a question for those of you who have read the novel - what is the general tone and feel of Iron Man? There has been alot of discussion over the use of humour and the tone of the film, so i am interested in finding out what the novel was like (no spoilers please).

I'll be a little disappointed if that is the case. I've never liked the idea of giving Iron Man a public identity.

I was thinking the same thing. Though I'm not sure if they would get a plot point like that wrong in the novelization. As inaccurate as they can be sometimes.

It is very humorous at points. They seem to have used humor just the right amount.

Like 3dman and Rocker both stated, it was well balanced and the humour was used in the right places.

Depending on how Favreau directs this and the actors act it out there are some pretty serious/deep scenes. I just hope those scenes come off like they did in the book.

The humour wasn't bad either, it was perfect for Stark's playboy don't give a **** kind of attitude.

I think because I've been wanting an Iron Man film for so long I had the mindset when I was done with the book that I wished there was more action.

Overall, looking back I think the action was actually a good amount. The fanboy in me wanted more but for the length of the book it was pretty damn good.

There is the escape from the cave which is damn good, then he returns to the middle east briefly for some payback. The scene from the trailer where the two raptors(jets) are chasing him and the fight with Iron Monger which is also pretty cool.

^I agree. I don't mind Pepper and Rhodey knowing. Hell, I don't mind SHIELD knowing either, but the general public shouldn't know he's Iron Man, IMO.

How long exactly is the fight between Iron Man and Iron Monger in the movie? I hope we get a good, nice and long final battle. Too many times these days the final battle's in CB movies have been lacking because they are too short.

I agree with this in terms of being the longest fight...but it still felt short.

Hopefully that was just because I'm a fast reader and it will play out longer in the actual film.
