I can understand WB logic here. AFter all , the higher the budget the lower you're profit will be. And with a 200 million budget already as well as the costs of the failed projects , they weren't about to give more cash to singer.

Why is it so difficult to do that. James Cameron is going to do the same thing with Avatar. Shoot almost the entire movie digital. You're spending the majority of of you're budget on VFX and that is what a superman movie needs. Massive VFX
I can understand WB not paying for it, but its not exactly Singers fault that they didnt so i cant see why people are blaming him.

Oh and have you heard the rumoured Avatar budget? Its supposedly $300 million

Because he doesn't want to kill Superman. He wants to defeat him. In Darkseid's mind, thise are two very different things. He wishes to break Superman on an emotional level before he does on a physical level.

Why though? Kal-El is obviously a threat to him, and has shown he can beat him in a fight, so why waste the time when he knows Superman is capable of beating him.

I have heard about those rumors about the udget of avatar , but i do'n't think that is the current budget.

I mean some tim back when Cameron was still impressed with the technology on Titanic , he expressed interested in Avatar but decided that until CGI becomes better and/or cheaper , he wasn't going to do it anytime soon. Back then they had estimated the budget as 300-360 million with all CG humans.

Of course with todays technology it would be much cheaper and he has been working on many drafts.

And finally i think from a pure financial POV , any director/studio exec. should think twice when the budget of a movie is 300 million and it's the first movie of a supposed franchise.

I could believe Spiderman 3 having a budget of 300 million ( though i doubt it's true) simply because of the fact that the franchise itself is a big money maker thru theatrical grosses , dvd sales and the obvious comic and merchandise sales.

dark b i totally see were your coming from to the others well this time around they have plenty of money for a great sequel and here are the reasons

1. THe suits are here to stay so get over it and quite whinning ther bought and paid for some theres a million right there

2. Scenes cut fromt he first movie to be added this time like the trip to Krypton and stuff will be added and thus saving 10+ million.... right there

3. props and other stuff are all paid for and are stashed away in a movie set somewhere

this time around theres plenty to be spent people crazy villains and stuff....

ive heard this as well and thats because they had to go back and re shoot 3 minths worth of footage... wordon the street is that a 1/3 of the script was tossed out cuz it was just plain terrible so its costing the studio more money.... but i have a question to everyone when the hell did we care so much bout how much a movie makes or what they wear or this and that .... what happened to just grabbing some popcorn.... getting your sweetie to lift up the arm rest to lay her head on your shoulder and just enjoy yourself for 2 hours?

I'm no kid buddy, i'm a 24 year old MAN so i wouldnt go out with a teenager for one so you can keep your childish insults at bay and talk like an adult or dont talk at all.

Yes i want a continuation of the love story in the sequel because its the heart of Superman himself, his relationships with humans that make him what he is. I liked the action plenty in the first movie, and even the mighty Steven Spielberg said that the plane sequence is one of the best action sequences ever. And i dont remember him ever saving a cat in the movie.
You obviously haven't developed much mental skills to understand sarcasm, have ya, kid?

And, yeah, you're gonna get your movie.
Know why?
Because Singer's a stubborn dumbass with a huge ego. Not to mention, he doesn't like Superman, comics or understand the character.
I'm really glad you're gonna get the sequel of your dreams.

Personally i'd like my sweetie to give my head but hey that's just me

Seriously tough , we're here to discuss movies. If 'people don't care about how much a movie costs and simply are the type that just sit back , chill out with their gals and popcorn , then it's okay. JUst don't post on a movie forum IMO.
Posting on a forum means discussing stuff and that is why it's relevant in these discussions to care about what a movie makes and/or what the budget is.
It makes you feel proud when you're fav. movies grosses alot or depressed when it doesn't gross very much.
It gives you material to have discussions.

I just told you. He wants to truely defeat Clark before he kills him. He wants to crush him beneath his heal, cause him to lose faith in everything he believes him, and then grant him death as a mercy. It's a matter of pride for Darkseid. Killing him would be too easy.

Singer can do great action the Nightcrawler seqence in X2 proved that as well as the Masion assult. However i am a litttle weary about his talents as an action director. I say give him another go but if he messes up the sequel then he should be shot.

Not exactly. Honor would involve always keeping one's word, and Darkseid has been shown to be very underhanded and deceitful in the past. It's about pride, really.

I don't believe in comicbook fights. If it doesn't happen on the bigscreen it doesn't happen at all.

That's Pre Crisis Darkseid. In that Era only him and Mongul were able to be more than a match for Superman at that time. Now Darkseid and Mongul are just slightly less powerful than Superman. The Omega Effect is Darkseid's Trump Card against Superman and even then Superman and Doomsday are the only two who can withstand the OE and Survive. (in DD's case without injury)

As for those Clips. Many of them are heavily Matrix Revolutions inspired (which rips from Superman 2 in spots) and I don't care for that in a Superman Film. Second, they are cartoons and I really don't care to see anything from a cartoon (Especially STAS and JLU) onscreen. But I am open to a grand Fight sequence.

No one can be hit by the true power of the Omega Effect and survive. Absolutely no one. Darkseid has simply never used the true power of the Omega Effect on Superman.
