Default Top 5 Videogame Swords

Yep here's another list. When I first saw it, I immediately thought of GoW's sword, Heavnly Sword, Soul Reaver, Halo's sword. I got 3/5 of them

5. Light Saber (Star Wars)

4. Blades of Chaos (God of War)

3. Heavenly Sword

2. Energy Sword (Halo)

1. Master Sword (Legend of Zelda)

Hmm kinda surprised the Gun Blade or Cloud's sword didn't make the cut, I'd say those were probably more Iconic then the Heavenly Sword or the Blades of Chaos, though I have nothing against those picks.

Good. #1 is the only real sword on the list. Energy blades are lame and the Blades of Chaos and the Heavenly "sword" are just glorified knives that exemplify the style over substance approach their games have.

heavenly sword has been out for ten minutes, it shouldn't be there either

energy sword and master sword are fine

there's nothing from devil may cry, yoshimitsu's sword, soul edge,

edit

here's dante's sword from the devil may cry games

Alright i'll make my list

Hwang's Ganko from soul edge/blade. If any of you have played the game, it's his final sword, it has an invisible blade and i feel it's iconic since there are no other swords out there with invisible blades

then it's tatsumaru's/rikimaru's izayoi given to the leader of the azuma ninja clan in the tenchu gaming series, it's simple but really badass...

Next is Squall's gunblade which could well be my favourite

gray fox's light sword

the left handed one winged angel and his masamune, sephiroth

and the ever badass keyblade

more respect coming up

How could anyone see the BoC as glorified knives? THey are SWORDS ON CHAINS, get over it. And The Stinger should be on this list instead of the Heavenly Sword one.

Dude, she uses a whip with a bunch of knives on it. It doesn't even come close to the BoC and what all they can do. And why the Energy Sword? It's just a noob weapon, plain and simple. The first time I played Halo 3 I was in an off-line deathmatch fight to 25 kills with a dude who was a little better than me, and someone who had been playing on-line for weeks. He killed me in the first four encounters, but that's when I found the energy sword. I killed him three times straight before he got the last kill.

I've taken out people who are better than me who had the sword, it's not all that, ESPECIALLY on Halo 3.

Regardless, While the Blades of Chaos are cool and dynamic enough to make the list, I think 3 is too high, to say nothing of Heavenly Who? It's a nice looking game, but it's nothing that God of War 3 couldn't be, right down to the weapons. And playing God of War makes it very clear that Ivy's weapon doesn't have the versatility of the BoC, nor do the BoC have the inherent wickedness of Valentine's blades-all-along-the-chain.

Lightsaber should also be not on there.

#5) Kratos' Blades of Chaos, for badassness and versatility
#4) The Arbiter's Energy Blade, for uberness and utility
#3) Squall's Gunblade, for originality and epicness
#2) Soul Calibur, for storyline and for monstrousness
#1) Master Sword, for storyline, epicness, utility and, longevity.

It looks different.
It cuts different.
It grapples different.
It has different secondary functions.

No, I don't see how they're varients, I only note that they both evolve blades and chords. If I were, I would consider all swords varients of each other (or the first sword type, if you prefer), regardless of different uses and origins.

The light saber is the coolest sword/weapon in all of the universe. There should not be a list, just a name, light saber.

My favorite Swords in video gaming:

5) Yun Seong's 'White Storm' (Soulcalibur 3)
4) The Prince's 'Eagle' Sword (Prince of Persia: Warrior Within)
3) Raziel's Soul Reaver (Legacy of Kain)
2) Xiaohu Dun's Scimitar (Dynasty Warriors 4)
1) Umbra Sword (Oblivion)

My swords: (non-Final Fantasy list, FF gets a list of it's own.)
5-Dante's Rebellion. IT slices it dices, pair it with Dante's guns and make even the toughest of demons cry like a sissy...
4-Ivy's Valentine: It's a blade, it's a whip... That is really good.
3-Grey Fox's HF Blade: It vibrates, slices bullets and can even make Raiden look badass...
2- Soul Edge... Big Evil Blade with a big evil eye... Capable to corrupt everyone who wields it...
1-Master Sword... The bane of all evil 'Nuff said...

Final Fantasy Blades:
5-Seifer's Gunblade
4-Cloud's Ultima Weapon
3-Tidus' Brotherhood
2-Sephiroth's Masamune
1-Odin's blade
