Saw the leaked footage, it was pretty cool, can't wait to see the official version of it.

I'm not sure what that means but, the first Tron had a lot of flaws. The dialogue sucked in numerous scenes and the storyline was not developed well.

Atually, I agree with him to some extent. There are a few times in the film that are a bit cold and almost emotionless - even when it's not meant to eb the case. It never bothered me though.

so....i'm wondering why people at Disney think that this WOULDN'T be a good idea. there's obviously a solid fan base and it has the potential to surpass the Matrix. the technology is here, the demand is here.....what's the hold up? get on it Disney!!!

They will be touting this as another POTC type franchise if it gets off the ground.

This isnt just footage developed to make a pitch to Disney for a sequel - this is actual footage shown by Disney announcing a sequel. Unless I've grossly misread the situation and missed something? Disney are already on it

actually, it DOES seem like they're on it. however, there ARE people within Disney that still don't think it's a good idea.... ...dumbasses. Anyway.....it seems that Steven Lisberger (Tron creator and director) is involved with the project after all!!! Quote:

Pixar are the perfect people to do Tron 2. Not only are they extremely skilled with CG animation, but also they would be able to give the movie actual meaning beneath the surface, like the original had. Pixar is really good at telling stories like that. And as they showed in Wall-E, they're interested in mixing live action and CG.

I doubt Pixar does the film...however with John Lasseter being the main guy with both Disney Animation and Pixar, you can expect a similar quality. Oh and I saw the guy who directed the short's previous work and it is great.

Yeah. The footage from before was so freakin' awesome, a part of me was always worried that they'd forget to actually make the rest of the movie.

Please, someone invent a time machine solely for the purpose of buying a copy of this movie and bringing it back to the present.
Because I simply don't think I have it in me to wait 3 years for this movie.

Me too;
How do you even pronounce that? 'Trooz'? 'Truz'? Or is it literally like T.R.Z.? Actually, in America - a 'z' is pronounced as 'zee' isnt it (as opposed to the U.K. were we say 'zed')? That would make it 'Treezee'?

I think it's just T.R.Z., I say as long as Jeff Bridges is back I couldn't care what they call it

I like what I've seen so far for this, but honestly I never watched all of Tron. I finally sat down a few months ago to do so, but the first 30 minutes of the film was so un-entertaining and confusing that I was completely turned off to it. Maybe I'll give it a shot another day, but as of right now I'm not in a rush. I just wish that the opening of the film got to the point or at least spelled out what the hell the film is about more clearly. To this day I still don't know what the main plot is.
