How about the " stepping in the shower while sombody is already in there, then they both stick their heads out of the opposite end of the shower curtain look at each other and scream " cliche'.

or what about the flushing of the toilet and the person taking a shower gets cold water, that crap never happens in real life.

Yeah the cute baby syndrome, it happened in The Brady Bunch, Diff'rent Strokes, The Cosby Show.

The funny thing is in Married With Children when they added some little kid named Six who mysteriously disappeared later in the show.

It's weird when the real world is more diverse than television. Going by 90's sitcoms, apartheid is in effect in New York City.

I've noticed that on a lot of black sitcoms (granted, my reference frame is mostly from the 90's), that white people barely seem to exist. If they do show up, they're glorified props. At best you might get an antagonist.

I'm not sure if that's done intentionally to counter white sitcoms' whiteness, or if that's how black Americans view white Americans.

Well, actually, depending on which city you're in, it can be pretty damn segregated in the real world. Especially Chicago. I can go months without seeing anybody that's not black where I live, work, and hang out.

Oh yeah. Where the episode takes place in that one room and there's always one person who keeps the deliberation going while everyone else is trying to get out of there.

Let's not forget the nerd/geek cliche, where all you need is glasses and a supoerhero shirt and you're automatically a nerd or a geek.

There's also the cliche where it's a group of exaggerated friends, and everyone in the world is completely normal except them. (It's Always Sunny, Happy Endings)

I've noticed in real life, this is how a lot of people see themselves. Countless times have I heard variants of "my friends/coworkers are so wacky" or "my crazy friend" who isn't actually crazy in the least, probably just a little more outgoing than the dullard telling the story. I guess it's that thing inside all of us that likes to believe there's something special or unique, when in actual fact most people are pretty much the same when you boil it down.

And yes. Can anyone honestly say that losing Judy Winslow on Family Matters was a huge loss for the show? Or Chuck Cunningham?

While we can all agree, a card board cut out would be just as good, or maybe even better than the performances we got from both Judy and Chuck, it's just the fact that the producers introduced these characters, then dropped them, and never gave any type of explanation to their disappearance. Chuck I can understand, he was only around for one episode. Both Judy Winslow and Henry Finnerty ( Grounded for Life) were both around for at least 4 seasons, then just vanished. At least when Aunt Rachel left ( Family Matters), they did mention she moved to another state ( although I have no idea why should we leave her child ( Lil Richie ) behind.

Now that I think about it, Carrie Heffernan ( King of Queens ) had a younger sister in the first couple episodes that just vanished as the show progressed.

-The dad's old college buddy/buddies come to town and he tries to relive his glory days but learns a valuable lesson about appreciating what he has now.
