She's busy hanging out with Helen Bryce, the ghost of Tina Greer, and Lucas.

Am I the only one who busted out laughing when I read the thread title? I still find it funny that Clark has just been left on the farm.

According to the story, Martha Kent accepted a position in Washington DC, as the Kansas state senator in line for the U.S. Senate.
As for actress Annette O'Toole, I don't think Al & Miles ever stated a detailed reason fro her departure, but rumors circulated that she was becoming dissatisfied with the series' direction. A similar rumor began three years ago, about John Schneider's role. I guess we'll never know the full truth unless some curious fan or interviewer poses that question to Annette. |

Well with John Schneider, M and M explained to him prior to the season that he would be leaving in the 100th episode...
They supposably explained to him that it was a creative decision to kill off Jonathan because its part of the mythology that Clark learn to become his own man w/o his father. Schneider stated this in a few interviews and said he had no problem with it... Personally, I would like to have the Kents still around I mean, must they really follow what the Donner universe did?

i want Jonathons ghost to come back. Jonathon was the only one that Clark would listen to, even in Void.

I have no problem with Jonathan leaving when he did, but I really miss Annette in that role.

I've never seen an article that says Annette was dissatisfied with her character. She's only ever said good things about the show and has probably been the most diplomatic of any of the actors.
She only ever had a contract for six years, and it was never going to extend beyond that. In a series that's about a young man growing up, it makes sense to have his parents leave his life, for whatever reasons, at some stage. Quote:
That's an unusual time to pick up a TV series. You've missed so much and I highly recommend you go back to the beginning.

Yep, Jor-El definitely asks a lot more than any parent our teacher ask... come on, even adults would have difficulty with the tests. Kill someone who used to be your best friend to stop Zod- um, that's not something that should put on anyone and most would have done what Clark did- even though fans scream for him to not do that, let's admit it- we'd all do that...
God, and I thought exam times were difficult. Lol. |

Does AI Jor-el somehow know that Clark will defy him, and all of this is part of the so-called "testing". Is he testing him to see how he handles situations when it looks like all is lost? Clark as Superman is going to have to make some monumental decisions in his life, and he's not always going to make the right one's with the best outcome but what's important is that the decisions he makes are for the right reasons. Is this what Jor-el's training is all about? |

i think during the first encounters that was the agenda but, i think now its more an apocolyptic decision that he's making.

That's one of the things I always liked about the DC Animated Universe. They weren't afraid to keep things in a Post-Crisis world, or feel like they had to follow the Donnerverse so resolutely.

oh come on. He's staying on a farm he's lived his whole life whereas Jor-El asks him to kill Lex which I don't know about you is hard thing to do.
