A Tech Jacket-wearer (looking similar to Zack Thompson's) was seen fighting Omnipotus with a cadre of fellow heroes in Invincible #27. The Geldarians were shown to be part the Coalition of Planets in Invincible #23; It was revealed there that the Kresh were charged by the Viltrumites to overtake Geldaria. In Brit: Old Soldier, among the bonus sketches Robert Kirkman states that Brit, Capes, Tech Jacket, and Invincible all take place in the same universe.

Isn't it in like the #300's now or something? I seem to remember reading something that said it's one of the longest running comics with a restart.

They should do an "Essential" version of Savage Dragon. I'd pick that up.

It's the second longest-running comic book series ever by a single creative team (#133 I believe). Longest running is Cerebus with 300 issues and third is Usagi Yojimbo.

I have a question, and had no idea where to put it, so this seemed like a good place to start.

I really want to start reading Gaiman, especially Sandman. I read Good Omens recently and absolutely loved it, but when I went to my local bookstore to check out his comics TPB there seemed to be a great deal of his stuff. What I want to know is where is a good place to start? And where exactly does the Sandman continuity begin? Vol. 1, or is there a more intersting TPB out there?

Well, there is Endless Nights, which kinda gives you an introduction to the Sandman and his family. It's quite brilliant and it's the first thing I read. After that, start with Volume one and work your way through to the end.

Just a word of caution: Sandman is an amazing series and Gaiman is a gifted writer, but if what you liked most about Good Omens was the humor, you should know that that comes almost entirely from Terry Pratchett. Gaiman's works aren't humorless, but he's got a different sense of humor in his writing from Pratchett's. He's not nearly as satirical as Pratchett on any given day, either.

That said, I hope you still give Sandman a look. It's pretty much the benchmark by which I judge all other mystical, non-superhero comic series.

I once did a count, for research on my own comic project, and counted panels from about five or seven random comics.
Some comics had 90 something, some had more and some had less,
I think the average came out to be about 75 panels.

But I tossed the scrap paper I wrote the notes on so I can't be sure without counting again. And I am not doing that again.

Doesn't really matter. As long as you can afford to publish it, use as many pages as it takes to tell the story.

Number of panels doesn't really matter. It's all about how much it takes to tell your story your way.

When I counted the panels it was because I wasn't sure how many pages I had and I wanted to make sure it wasn't falling short in some way.

The number of panels was really just a random question, asked out of curiousity.

Has anyone ever given any thought to the idea that there might be some inter-dimensional connection between Marvel's Power Cosmic and DC's Omega Force? I mean, they're both basically the same ability: the mastery of matter and energy manipulation, and an awareness of things through time and space. It seems like Darkseid and Galactus could have some sort of connection if a writer chose to explore it.
