Game Console question.

What is the best Game console? A lot of people tell me the Wii is really good because its realistic.

Wii doesn't have as many good games as X-box, but the few good games it does have are simply amazing (Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Metroid, etc.)
Over all I'd side with x-box since there are so many great third party games with plenty of replay value due to Xb live...

I only have a Wii, but I think it terms of fun factors Wii probably has it more than other consoles. Xbox 360 has alot of cool games for hardcore gamers (esp. FPS type), and if I could get another console I'd get 360. However, with Wii I was able to have fun with my family and in-laws, something that won't have happened with a 360.

If you're into Nintendo, then it's the Wii. Just about everything else right now, it's the 360. If you're not into any of the Nintendo franchises, don't bother with the Wii. Also depends on if you a really big fan of Final Fantasy and/or Metal Gear. That's basically what it comes down to. Also, you don't need to be a "hardcore gamer" to really enjoy the 360 or PS3, so just throw that notion out the window.

I preffered PS2 to XBox, but I think 360 kicks the PS3's boo-tay!

The GP2X.

It can play arcade games: right now MAME and Capcom games; consoles: NES, SNES, Sega Master System, Genesis, Megadrive, Sega CD, TurboGrafx16/PC Engine, PSX, Neo Geo, Atari and Colecovision (for the real old school); handhelds: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, Wonderswan.

There are also ports of other games specifically for the GP2X, and the major plus is that it's open source and supports homebrew.

I think to get the most out of this gen, you need to get a Wii and one of the other two. The PS3 and 360 are essentially the same thing. Just with different exclusives, different quality of online play, and a slightly different focus (360 is a gaming machine, PS3 is an all-media-machine) But otherwise they are the same.

To be fair Microsoft is also trying to be the all-media machine and wants the Xbox 360 to be the dominating living room set appliance too.

The only reason why Microsoft didn't add an HD DVD player to their console like Sony did with blu-ray and the Playstation 3 was because Microsoft wanted that year's headstart.

However the Xbox 360 can play DVDs and download HD movies (Microsoft is really trying to push digital downloads for movies instead of people buying physical copies).

But I agree with Geo for the most part, in order to get the most out of this gen you're going to need the Wii and one of the HD consoles (which are pretty much the same thing with a few minor differences).

I'd say if you are not into the classic Nintendo franchises, then there is no strong enough reason left to buy the Wii. It's not like the SNES days where you could own the system, not be a fan of Mario, Zelda, etc, and still have a **** load of great games to choose from, not just a few.

trust me you won't need a wii for this gen. Unless you like mario and all the Nintendo regergetated franchises, you ain't missing out. I'm happy with my 360, although I'm very interested in buying the PS3 to play the ratchet and clank and God war(3 is going to be out this year or next) franchises.

get a ps2 and a 360 instead.

for the pS2

you can get GOD of war 1 and 2, ratchet and clank, Shadow of the collosus, Although I'm not a fan FF I've heard of FF7 being a really good game.
